www.truecar.com is generally a pretty good place to start.

I did a little searching, but wanted to get an idea of what people paid for their 2012 GTI? This is my first new car ever and first "new" car in 10 years, so I want to make sure I am getting the best deal I can. I'm hoping to pay about invoice?

Sunroof, Nav, 4 door, 6 spd manual, floor mat kit...
The dealer committed to the following (car is on order):
Invoice = $27,307
Dest fee = $770
Mat kit invoice = $185
Total = $28,262 - $1000 = $27,262 (before tax)

paid invoice @ 23,805 with destination in Atlanta. got free protection kit too (mud guards, rubber mats) but that was an oversight.... don't see why you shouldn't be able to get these at invoice. seems to be plenty around.

Right on. Appreciate the info. I decided today was the day and went and pulled the trigger. I ordered a 2012 CSG 2dr DSG with conv. and sunroof and some extras. Paid $26.9 before TTL. I'm AMPED! Now I just get to sit back and wait for my baby to get shipped in. They said it could be anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months. Hoping it is closer to the first. Until then I'll be drooling over some GTI porn.

I just bought a 2012 GTI w/sunroof
27,200 MSRP
with the "MARKET ADJUSTMENT PRICE" the stealership wanted to shove down my throat, the price according to them was $31,000.
I ended up paying $25,400 for 72 month financing @ 1.55% interest rate.

It was "new" not new though.
8400 miles on and 6 months old!

$27,500 ($30,000 out the door w/ gap insurance) on a 4-door 2012 CGS GTI DSG w/ Sunroof and Navigation. 0% through their promotion. Still deciding on whether or not to get the extended warranty.
#27
Not sure if you're Finance Manager would like it if I told you to skip the extended warranty. 3/36 covers everything and the 5/60 Powertrain covers "everything expensive". So you're not going to be out of pocket for a long time.
Oh, by the way Base, 4-Door w/DSG $24,998.

$26.7k before taxes and fees for a 2012 CSG 4dr 6MT with sunroof and conv. IIRC, came out to around $28.5k OTD, but I could be off. Sounds like I could have gotten it down a bit more based on some of these other prices.
