UGH, can we all agree that the SM is the coolest looking car ever?

      Yes?

      Awesome.

Citroen + Maserati = AWWWWWW YEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHH

Chrysler + Maserati = DO NOT WANT

EDIT: Higher-res shots of those first two?

This seems new/vintage to me, if by that we mean a new photo of an old car that looks like an old photo of an old car:

Regarding the SM, I realize my statement was ridiculous as most people don't see the appeal, but a big Citroen with their air suspension and a Maserati V6, none of which will ever work properly and all of which looks funky and absurd and very 70's is a perfect storm of things that I like. I go nuts for Fezza 308 GT4's also, which is another 70's lustcar that everyone seems to hate.

I saw one last week here in Columbus with Cali plates on it. It was in GrandView at the Giant Eagle and an older gentleman was driving it. Didn't get a chance to talk to him

I think he's looking for Vintage cars that were trying to be (or were) a representation of futuristic styling. Everything in the 80's comes to mind. Kind of "the last car before we all start using flying cars". Think of a drawing of a space shuttle before one actually existed.

yes, this is what I'm looking for. Cars with a hint of modernism... and not just in the meaning of still looking contemporary

One of the most futuristic / modern cars I can think of. Yes I know it was a concept.

Although they are illustrations, some of Syd Mead's work has a very similar vibe to this thread:

We need to give that car a proper shoot. That thing looks like a space ship/time machine.
