Thread: mk6 2.5l bolt ons with wot box

  1. 02-27-2012 07:18 PM #1
hey my names derek got my mk6 golf in july. so far it has custom intake, c2 sri, muffler delete with magnflow resonator in place, obx header, raceland coilovers(only 2 weeks old so not quite settled) and konig 18x8 rims. don't have the money for a tune yet. i havn't read about anyone putting a wot box on the 2.5l yet so i wanted to share my videos. first video is set at 3500 rpm. the launch was set at 2500. let me know what you think.

    What is an SRI?

Hope it's just the android phone quality making it sound like that. Not a fan of the sound at all. To each his or her own.

Sounds pretty good, not a fan of the wheels though.

By SRI, do you mean short ram intake? How can you have a custom intake and a C2 SRI at the same time?

Where you seriously just stopped in the middle of a two lane with traffic?

That's why I asked what SRI meant. I assumed Short Ram Intake but then he also said he had a custom intake as well.

I wanna hear what it sounds like with a decent camera. All it takes is just a Flip video camera, nothing too expensive.

and whats wrong with raceland coilovers? sure they're not the most expensive and best but they feel good and no one really has anything negative to say about them. also the tint is a film. it is removable. if i had the r led tails i would remove the tint but i don't

  13. 02-27-2012 09:19 PM #13
and i was in the turn lane waiting for traffic to clear

  14. 02-27-2012 09:30 PM #14
and idc what people say its my car and i love it but damn i didn't realize everyone on here is so negative. i thought we were a vw family. shiza

I bet it sounds much better in person, when i had mine i remember it sounded super deep when you got on it. FWIW if you like what you've done to your car then whatever anyone else has to say shouldn't matter. Everyone has an opinion doesn't mean you have to like em all.

Get used to it. People on here are *******s unless you're doing what everyone else is doing, it's just the vortex way!

Although I don't understand a WOT box on a 2.5, good job for doing what you like.

some people here are *******s with big mouths (or fingers? ), you're right. but there is generally a fine line between what makes your car look like **** and keeping it clean and factory looking, and many people strive to keep their cars looking like it came from a dealer showroom.

sure, we like to consider ourselves a close knit group of people, vw enthusiasts that is, but you can't seriously be thinking straight if you expect to come to a forum, post pictures of your car, and not receive negative feedback. at the end of the day, it's not our place to tell you how to spend your hard earned time/money, so keep up doin what you're doing, but don't expect everyone to like it; the only person who should, is you.

That's pretty much what I was thinking! And I think when people get mad about someone talking down what they did, than the hate comes even worse. Welcome to the vortex though...it's a love/hate relationship.

yeah, there is definitely a hive mind here that just feeds on itself, hehe, but it's really all in fun (most of the time). think of it as a hazing... if you can withstand the initial attacks, and you're a decent guy, welcome to the club

There is absolutely no point in having a WOT box on a naturally aspirated car. The whole point of the box is to let you build boost for a launch, not to sound cool...

    This thread delivers!

Actually the purpose is for launch control. More consistant launches and also no lift shift so guess again

That they drag race often. They also have trans brakes. On a N/A Golf? Way over-kill.
