Interesting. I've read about the speculations of running lightened components with stock harmonic balancers that are "tuned" to work with the OEM rotating assemblies causing things to be out of harmony at certain RPMs, but never actually heard of a failure like this.

yeah, they are just as confused as i was haha. After sending them pictures and talking to them on the phone today, they are shipping me the stock G60 FW. I am quite impressed with how this has been treated.

I was referring to the crank pulley rubber balancer. I'm sure you've got it under control though.

Can't wait to see/hear some video.

the beast runs! I still need to get a video of it but i got up early, went to the shop and got it running right. I still need to tweak the fueling up top and fix some minor things but she is running.

It sounds so damn nasty, it was worth it for the sound alone. I am happy

Is it unhealthy to be physically attracted to someone else's car? Well if it's wrong, then I don't want to be right...

When i get the trans from the salvage yard i got the 6 month warranty with it. it was making sounds in second when we first got the car going and I knew this was going to happen. no big deal. just call them up on monday and have them send me another one and toss it right in

It is a bit crazy. its the perfect amount of power for a mk1 and it is just pure raw fun. it does scare me a bit when it pulls like a freight train in the top of third

Excellent build! How did you select primary and secondary lengths and diameters on the header?

Cool I wonder how much you could gain with a header tuned for better scavenging at the top end. Would be neat to see. I'm probably going to run a Ricardo WAVE simulation of your engine to see if I can come up with anything. Such a sweet GTI!
