Ummm...just rip it off and replace...its just 3m double sided tape. Had mine for 8 months still looks good as new.

no way man the 3m tape is going to rip the paint off down to bare metal. and you will be screwed and your trunk will rust off.

I was at the stop n shop last week and I parked in front of this guy, on the way back to my car I walked by the rear and was astonished to see this. I wonder what they did with it.

I thought is was very weird. The paint didnt seem to be damaged but then again the glue was still on the car.

48.5" was the measurement I used. The front of the spoiler (closest to the back window) could of had more width than the back thicker part, as I found the distance from one side of the trunk to the other side wider than it was where the trunk drops off vertically; that dimension should of been 48.75, i think. The back (Thick part) should just be 48.5.
Candy white. easy install, just start at one end with the teeniest gap between end of spoiler and trunk gap and run your thumb in conjunction with the vertical surface of the trunk and the spoiler as you place it down (so one doesn't stick out further than the other), follow it thru to the other end while pressing down firmly. After, go along the entire strip, press down sliding your thumb firmly all along, leave in the sun for a bit for an extra bit of adhesion.
Had to take mine off a couple of times till I got it right. no damage, still sticky, no worries. just take your time. looks real good. and for $31 bucks, no brainier.

It's just 3M double sided tape.
On a warm enough day, you could easily remove one by hand.

So, just wanted to follow up and let everyone know that their customer service (the guy I posted in the very first post) is pretty solid. I had mine come off on a chilly day in the rain because of my error and they were cool enough to ship me another one for a little less money, and in 48.5" as opposed to just 48" like I did before.

I will get some pics up today. As with the first time, the paint match is spot on. I used rubbing alcohol to prep it after a wash and it is on their wayyy more solid than the first time. In addition, it looks a lot better on a lowered car without dinky 16's. Pretty solid.

I just ordered one today for my wifes Jetta. I got the 48.75". If it looks good, I am hoping they can custom make one for my Passat.

I got my $31 lip spoiler today and there are a couple of defects in the paint and it is about 1 inch too long. I ordered the 48.75", but it is over 49".

Yes....I already have. I was just letting everyone know there may be some issues with these. I didn't expect it to be perfect for $31 bucks anyway.

    Again, okay?

Why post up early before giving them a chance to make it right? Dozens of other members on here have received perfect spoilers. I ended up having an issue with mine that was totally my fault for not prepping well enough before adhesion and they hooked me up when I ordered another one with a little better price. Just as the first time, the paint and length are perfect.

Give them a chance to make it right before trying to burn them.

Just installed mine today! Great quality and paint is perfect match. I ordered 48.75" thanks to Jettsy for the tip on that. The fit is perfect.

Note the proper German beer while doing the install. Spaten Optimator

Yep, I did mess up the first pivot point on the left side, but you have to look closely to know.

Got mine today... 48.5 is a good fit, but 48.75 would be perfect. Mine is a little off, but you have to look very close to tell. I'm happy with it, what a steal!

  32. 05-31-2012 04:41 PM #172
its hard to get it to sit perfect but its also hard to butcher the job. Mine is off a tiny bit but can not be seen unless your looking at it from 5 inches away

Love this lip! What a deal! Best $31 bucks ive ever spent
