Usually gnatman posts these up, I figured I would do it this month so I can stick it to the top and see if some more people will come out.
What: Pro Autosports race/HPDE weekend
When: 3/23 - 3/25
What: Come drive your daily driver on a racetrack. First timers will need to sign up for a short informational class. 4 on track sessions per day, at 20 mins each.
Basically, you can drive anything you own as long as it's safe on a racetrack. Cost is $200 per day (usually can get a discount) and I believe $100 if you want to add an extra day. Comes with an 8x10 photo of you driving, membership and instruction.
It's a really fun way to learn how to drive faster, better and see what your car will really do. Since it's not technically "racing" the HPDE event may be covered by your insurance, call and check if not there is insurance available for the weekend. Helmets are available to rent if you do not already have one. Pro Autosports is run by some really cool and helpful people. The first two runs on the track they have an instructor drive with you to learn the track and fix some common mistakes everyone makes while driving. Instructors to ride along are always available for more runs if you like.
Personally, I went out with PAS last weekend for the first time and had a great time. Instruction was great and gave me the option of a few different lines, found me a new hose clamp when my intake cone slipped off, couldn't think of a much better motorsport weekend.
Put all your cars out on the track with your expensive suspension and see what you can do.
