I am glad to see you are enjoying the NSX so much and getting acquainted with other owners. It truly is an amazing vehicle.

What did you have in mind by with regard to a build? You gonna one up the LS build ? I often consider flat bedding mine off to SoS or Lovefab but then realize I have a house to pay off first .

Best wishes and I look forward to following your NSX adventures.

Thanks! I think it's funny when people say that the NSX is an amazing vehicle, because that's the response I give as well. When people ask me, I either say it's amazing or it's incredible because it's both of those

Well, I plan on keeping the car forever, so over its lifetime it will see high quality JDM parts while focusing on lightness and balance. It will stay N/A, and over time I want to do an Opera style treatment to it. If you aren't familiar with Opera, he lightens non structural pieces by swiss cheesing it, and also adds reinforcements to crucial areas. Also makes dry carbon body panels that look OEM, and vinyl wraps it, which IMO is crucial to its sleeperness.

mmmmmm. i actually stepped on one of those earlier today. it was super flexy and seemed like itd be a lot of fun to ride around on.

i rock a civiche, but ive been daydreaming about getting something a little more downhill, or just pick up some more slippery wheels so it feels like im going faster. id probably kill myself trying to slide on that though.

Yeah the loaded guys recommended the most flex for the board too so it is quite smooth.

Ceviche is a great deck! My friend got one and she loves it. Actually commutes to work on it, badass!

Nope. I wouldn't even consider that to be close at all--more like the normal distance one should park from a curb. I'm surprised...your location says "Bay Area"...that's the kind of quip I would expect to see out of the Mid-West

(Obviously I don't drive an NSX, but) I always park about that close to the curb. One would hope than an NSX driver would be skilled enough to maneuver within four inches of a curb without smashing into it.

California state law says your wheels must be within 18 inches of the curb, which is ridiculously far. I refuse to stray any further than six inches...three is probably more appropriate IMO.

This past week I really delved into the paint. I've been doing 2-3 hour evening sessions after work this entire week. I spent about 8-9 hours on the roof itself, and it has paid off tremendously.

It's the first time I've REALLY polished a car, and it's been really fun. The paint has taken 20 years of abuse and daily driving and it showed. I wish I could've gotten better pics of the condition but I found it's really freaking difficult to take pics of scratches in paint.

The entire surface of the car has micro scratches, and some areas have some really caked in oxidation and water spots

And here's what it looks like after 9 hours of work. Amazing difference.

What I used (in this order and with a Porter Cable):
    3M Rubbing compound
    Meguiars Swirl Remover 2.0
    Meguiars Show Gloss
Meguiars Hi Tech Yellow Wax x2 coats
    Meguiars Synthetic Sealant

Here's the video I watched to learn how to polish the paint, it was insanely helpful.

It's a bit repetitive, but it was nice being able to see proper technique and whatnot.

Before work today I went over to the Honda campus in Torrance because I had heard last week they had the new NSX there.

On my way over, I ran into a roadside smog check. Of course they had to check my car

Apparently, if a car is out of spec they'll just tell you, they're not there to hand out citations. In the grand scheme of things, it was actually a fairly pleasant experience. The attendants were cool and careful.

The new NSX was moved on Friday, so unfortunately it wasn't there. I didn't really take any pics of the campus or the cars there cuz I didn't want to be 'that guy', although I did come across an ILX which was really awesome to see in person. Looks great, especially for an upscale Civic.

I'm actually curious what they would have done if my car was modded. That being said, they let a ricey modded Integra through, so I am not sure what the criteria was for testing.
