Another vw guy stopping in for some knowledge

I wanna know the bore, stroke, horsepower, torque, displacement, number of valves...everything for a2..0 3a block. I've heard they're similar to a 9a from 16v vw's but I wanna know what's different and if I can use 2.0 9a crank, piston heads and rods with one? Thx

Even though VW/Audi does not sell blocks, I believe you will find, the same block part number on a 9a as you will a 3a.

I'm really sure 9a and 3a same dim in bore and stroke. 82.5 bore,92.8 stroke. Only big difference the 9a is 16v and 3a is 8v. It's good block for either 8v and 16v. It does have high compression 8v pistons. 10.2:1 cr. Found in Audi 80 1988-1990.
