Thread: Looking for a reputable paint-shop....

  1. 03-01-2012 02:41 AM #1
....to do both my Mk4 GTI and my '85 Mini. Sticking with the original factory colors. Both have excessive paint damage/chips that penetrate to the metal, negating the effectiveness of paint-correction via polishing. Thus, why I'm looking to repaint them both.

    Post-up! Thanks in advance.

Hope you've got deep pockets....an OK paint job will run you at least €2000 per car.... and that depends on the amount of prep work (dent repair, rust, etc.) that needs to be done to each car.

For 2 grand, don't expect show-quality paint, either.

Locations? You must know of some, if you're able to lend price points.

I don't know how far you live from Cologne, but Fischer-Meyer is excellent (in Ossendorf).

There is a place in Bitburg that does good work and is fairly priced. http://www.mertes-barthel.de/index2.html I've seen coworkers cars with touchups done on some pretty gnarly damage and you can't even tell it was ever there.
