So does anybody know if there is a way to change the digital speedometer from km/h to mi/h or vice versa? This will be helpful when you cross border.

you can do it through the MFD settings when you are stationary. should be called something like alt speed display or something

Noticed that the digital speed display does not match the speedometer. 40 MPH on the digital display looks like about 42 MPH on the speedometer.

That's annoying. I really hope I forget about this post before I drive my car next. That would drive me crazy. Lol

Bunch of threads on this in MKV section, not sure about MKVI. Not sure about all VWs but the GTI has been like this for a long time. The old speedo IIRC reads over by as much as 7%, and is progressive as speed goes up.

Today I learned how to put the wipers in the service position - so they can be pulled away from the windshield to be changed, or to wash the windshield, etc. After turning off the car, simply push the wiper slot down (the same way you would do a single sweep).

I guess I should have been more clear.....I really meant for normal stop-and-go type city driving where you're not racing through the gears. Typically I shift around 3-4k RPM under normal situations, but feel like I need to lower that in the R....or, as you suggest, raise it significantly. The latter doesn't play well in many situations though.

This could very well be a stupid question but does the hatch not open via the key fob when the engine is running? After I started the car up this morning I went to put a few things in the hatch area and it wouldn't open from the key FOB, only when I pressed the unlock button on the door did the hatch unlock. kinda weird.

You can't...just hit the door unlock button on the door. That will unlock it.

I realize this, it's just annoying that you can't do it with the hatch release on the key fob. doesn't make sense.

3-4k is very smooth for me as well, actually the entire range throughout all the gears is buttery. One of the things that impresses me so much with this car.

About the hatch...I can't figure out why but sometimes when I close the hatch it looks all the doors and the horn sounds as if I had locked it, but all I'm doing is shutting the hatch.

Funny thing is this never happens when I want it to, and when I'd like it to it doesn't!

If the car is locked and you open the hatch with Kessy, it will lock again when you close the hatch.

Pushing the lock window button only affects the rear windows and not the passenger side one. Figured this out after getting a car wash and my gf accidentally rolled the windows down..

Actually it does the factory does not want you to be able to open while driving down the road!

I am probably the only one to say this, but, I greatly preferred cruise control on its own stalk. I remember everyone complaining about hitting the cruise control stalk for the turn signals, but, I never did that (it's so much lower and such an odd angle). What i don't like are the teeny buttons for + (accellerate or resume) and - (decellerate)

I learned to day that a stage 1 tune is worth every penny. This is how the car should have come from the factory. I don't notice a "huge" difference, but acceleration is so much more smooth now, and at high RPM's the car doesn't seem so pushed to its limits.

Definitely worth it to do this upgrade.

that's 'cause they don't have as far to go!
If I hit the fronts first and then the backs, they both finish at the same time.

I have noticed it's almost hard not to "one touch" the windows all the way down... like if I'm just trying to crack them when I park. It's almost easier to start the one-touch down, then stop it.

No what would make sense is if it unlocked as long as the ebrake is engaged, regardless if the engine is running.

My 2008 GTI was bang on accurate according to my GPS. Haven't tested the R yet.

Rented a MK VI Jetta and it was 10% high.
