There is a way to make it turn off.. Wear It!

Perhaps you missed the 'stop and go' part of my post. But, if you feel it's necessary to wear a seat belt in bumper to bumper traffic where you literally haven't registered a speed for a half an hour feel free.
Taking it on and off while just hanging out in traffic seems pretty annoying.

Its prolly just a calculation error on your software's part. Vag com logs on my car shows 99.6% full throttle and eurodyne maestro logs show 99.8% open give or take that's off memory. I remember in my mk4 I've seen 100.2% open before so I'm sure its just a software thing.

Great idea until someone on a bike or riding the shoulder comes crashing into you at 30+mph, or until you forget to put it back on when you start moving again. Even so, going 15mph and you stop suddenly, it won't feel too pleasant if you keep going 15mph into the steering wheel.

I still don't understand why people ever take the seatbelt off while in the car. And yes, I'll even put my seatbelt on if I move the car in my driveway. Why?

      1. I feel naked without the seatbelt on
      2. It's a good example for my kids

Seriously... it's not uncomfortable. It just is. Never understood the big deal people make of HAVING to put on a seatbelt. It's just part of the driving experience.

I live in a very urban area, and it is annoying to have to put it on when I'm driving down an empty alley way before my first stop. No big deal, but I can see how the warning gets annoying in those situations.

I dont want to derail this to a seatbelt safety thread. Why does an urban area matter? What is the difference between putting it on when you start the car vs. at a a stop sign?

More than 80 per cent of all accidents occur at speeds less than 40 mph. Fatalities involving non-belted occupants of cars have been recorded at as low as 12 mph. Three out of four accidents causing death occur within 25 miles of home.

Whiplash of a rear-impact (dork behind you doesn't realize it's stop and go and doesn't stop, just goes) can damage your neck and then as you bounce forward your head meets the deploying airbag and snaps your vertebrae. The belt stops you from flying forward into the bag and allows the bag to come meet you rather than both face and bag flying at each other.
Airbags are designed with this in mind, and are not safe at all if you're not using a seatbelt. Nearly all people in the United States who have died from airbag-related injuries were either unrestrained or improperly restrained. A small fender bender if it sets of an airbag can cause massive damage to your face and neck if you're not restrained correctly by a belt and your head gets flung to a location it's not meant to be.

A 25mph crash is like falling 2 stories onto concrete in terms of forces on your body.

      Not to mention legal aspects:
"The use of seat belts significantly reduces the probability of injury, even in low-speed accidents. In accidents where seat belt use would probably have mitigated injuries, an occupant who fails to wear a seat belt is considered to have contributed to his/her own injuries."

To make this post a touch relevant to the topic...

When parked in my driveway, I put stretched-out socks over my side mirrors to keep the Robins from perching on the edge of them and crapping down the sides of my car. It works.

I found my self yelling 'cancel' increasingly louder with each mis-hit of the button... Going to have to tone it down or hold the steering wheel differently. Done it a few times parallel parking, easy to graze it with the palm of your hand while turning the wheel. Pretty annoying.

Weird I never have the issue of pushing the button.
If it does go on, wait for it for it to finish taking and Press it again.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I frequently stop at a couple businesses just down the alley from the back of my house.

The stock brakes are very much up to the task of some track use. I did 3 sessions in 96 degree weather (111 track temp) without any cool down laps (and 3-4 passengers). The brakes never showed signs of fade. Very impressive, especially considering the extra weight! Unless you are racing enduros I don't see the need for BBK's. Thanks VeeDub.
