It would have been fun to fly around a city you built.

Exactly what I am thinking, but I have a feeling, "The Sims" will play heavy on this game and I hope it doesn't hurt it.

No kidding. The same could be same for SC4. With that being said, I'm stoked for SC5.

CitiesXL 2011 and 2012 were kinda disappointing.

I wish EA didn't put their grubby mitts all over this game. Looks like Maxis is making a quality game. It's too bad that it's going to be an always online, Origin exclusive, with day 1 DLC. There's no terraforming either. Speculation is that EA is going to sell different "maps" to build on, as DLC.

I'll definitely be playing this, but I won't be buying it.

Could you please explain this a bit more? There is no "offline" gameplay? So there won't be any randomly generated maps?

It's "always online", as in, if you don't have an internet connection, you cannot play(like in Diablo 3). At the point you get a big map, and you get to pick where you want to start building... The speculation is that they will offer multiple types of terrain maps as DLC.

Ah, gotcha. That's what I thought. Thanks for clearing that up for me

What is this "origin exclusive" business and why is it bad?

It's essentially a re-branded version of EA Download Manager made to look and act more like Steam. Most of the issue comes with peoples trust in EA, which is minimal to non-existant. Another issue is their horrible DRM that I mentioned earlier. Other than that, all the great things about Steam are not there, and all the bad things about Steam are more pronounced on Origin.

People just don't want to have to go download their Steam imitator just to play the 1-2 EA games that they're actually interested in. It also gives EA free reign to snoop around on your PC, which makes people nervous because... It's EA.

I'll be totally honest though, I've never even used it. I'm just not interested in putting it on my PC, at all.
