What is this "origin exclusive" business and why is it bad?

It's essentially a re-branded version of EA Download Manager made to look and act more like Steam. Most of the issue comes with peoples trust in EA, which is minimal to non-existant. Another issue is their horrible DRM that I mentioned earlier. Other than that, all the great things about Steam are not there, and all the bad things about Steam are more pronounced on Origin.
People just don't want to have to go download their Steam imitator just to play the 1-2 EA games that they're actually interested in. It also gives EA free reign to snoop around on your PC, which makes people nervous because... It's EA.
I'll be totally honest though, I've never even used it. I'm just not interested in putting it on my PC, at all.
