On a number of shooting forums I'm on, there's usually a sub-section to give people a heads-up on great deals (good sales, clearances, promos, etc.) offered by various retailers out there. Inspired by this, I figured we might as well do something similar for us outdoorsy types as a heads-up to others that may not be aware of a good deal going on.
For example...I randomly checked out Cabela's online today, and they're currently having a 1 cent shipping deal until 3/6 if you order 1 piece of clothing or footwear. Seeing as though I've been searching for a decent budget-priced spotting scope lately, I was able to pick up a nice Barska 20-60x60mm spotting scope on sale for $60 (normally $150, and even Wal-Mart is more expensive right now at $70), and because I also ordered a baseball hat for $3.74, I was able to get that 1 cent shipping. Not a bad haul for $67 shipped altogether, considering they'll usually bend you over on shipping.

CCI Blazer 115 gr. 9mm for $9.99 per box of 50 rds., or $8.99 per box of 50 rds. for 10 or more boxes via Natchez
Also, if you're looking for bulk ammo it seems as though SG Ammo is beating AmmoMan, AIM, and J&G in price (even after shipping is factored in), and they're supposed to be great to deal with too.
Speaking of AIM, they have Austrian Police trade-in Gen. 2 Glock 22s (.40SW) for $340 and Gen 2 19s (9mm) for $370....not too bad if you're looking for a beater Glock to shoot the **** out of.

Bud's has the CCI Blazer 9mm 115 and 124 grain FMJ ammo for $8.99 per box even if you buy 1 or 50. Good stuff at a low rate. Widener's had 1260 round cases of Yugo surplus 7.62x39mm FMJ for $215 (17.8 cents a round or so!)
Thanks for the SGAmmo suggestion... going to order some stuff from them today, those are awesome prices on there!

just FYI, AIM has been sold out of their used glocks a for a week or more (depending on the model) when they do show up they sell VERY fast, You can sign up to be notified when they are back in stock and if you jump on it within a day or two you have a pretty good chance of getting one. 19's, 17's and 23's go especially fast. you can also get their $12 police trade in glock mags by signing up to be notified but they sell out even faster than the guns, sometimes they only last for a few hours.

one of the best deals going for a good inexpensive pistol are the Taurus Mod 82 police trade ins that are going for $150 from SOG and J&G sales. they have lots of "character" but are very functional and would make a good beat around/tackle box/glove box gun. its not a smith but they arent too bad.
if you cant bring yourself to buy a taurus, there are Smith mod 10's on sale at a few places (buds being one) for the $250 range iirc.
wideners has used sig p6's for $399, used Sig P226's for $475 (super good deal!) and if you reload for 50bmg or any overbore magnum they have WC867 and WC872 8lb jugs for $39 and free hazmat if you buy four.
classic arms has sks's that have either broken/bent safety levers and maybe a small dent on front sight hood for $229
thats all i can think of off the top of my head, ill post up again when I remember more. also, if someone is looking for something specific that might jog my memory of a deal that I have seen. I spend waaaaay too much time browing and buying from gun sites![]()

I just picked up a J&G Sales Taurus 82 and I like it a lot. Locks up tight and goes boom. Pretty accurate to boot! Also got a Classic Arms SKS beater for $229, I pick it up Saturday so I don't know what exactly is wrong with it but the price was right and I am dieing for an SKS project gun.
Also, bud's gun shop has TGI built FEG AMD-65 (AK variant) rifles for $418 with free shipping. Great AK variant at a steal, less than a WASR-10!

Aim surplus just got in some more cosmetic blem Spikes A3 uppers for $65 shipped. I got mine ordered already so I figured it's safe to spread the word around![]()

I still can't get over the time my buddy traded a guy an old Makarov sidearm for an M&P15 straight up. He listed his Makarov pistol on a local gun forum. The guy who was recently back from Iraq contacted him saying he had a brand new unfired M&P15 and that he can't find anywhere to shoot it locally so it just sits unused. So my friend hands him the Makarov and the guy hands over the AR15. Despite my friend asking multiple times if he wants money on top of the trade, the guy just says he only wants the pistol.
soooo ~$200 pistol for an $800 rifle. ....yeah

if it was a Russian Mak, they typically go for much more then $200. Even still, your friend made out like a bandit on that deal.
I have to laugh when someone calls me an a*****e. I've been called far worse than that.

SOG Knives and Tools: 50% off + extra 5% off, deals from $12 + free shipping
Botach Tactical cuts 50% off select SOG tactical knives and tools. Plus, coupon code "DNEWS" knocks an extra 5% off, dropping prices as low as $11.87. Combined with free shipping, that's one of the best sales we've seen on these items, yielding a number of price lows. Note that some of the knives in the sale are only available for law enforcement or military purchasers. Some best bets, with prices after coupon:

Botach also has a coupon code, 'slickmag'. 20% off all pmags.

Figured I'd revive this due to a decent deal I found on .223 in these ammo-deficient times.
500 rounds of Herter's 55 gr. HP .223 (basically re-branded Wolf) with dry storage box for $119.99 on sale, and use promo code 92FLAT ($5 flat rate shipping for orders over $99). Taxes obviously not included, but here in CT it comes to $132.93 w/ tax & shipping. Or if you're local to a Cabela's, it should ring up at the sales price of $119.99 as well (even if a store employee says otherwise, which has happened).
Cheaper than Dirt sells the Tula counterpart for $109.79 (w/o shipping), but they're out of stock. Same with AIMSurplus.
SGAmmo.com has the same Tula deal (FMJ though) in a spam can, but it's $139 w/ shipping.
AmmoMan.com is at $179 shipped for 500 rds. of Tula.
Seems to be the best online deal in town at the moment. Pricing isn't bad on 7.62x39 either. Promo code is valid until 9/20 if I remember correctly.

If I wasn't broke - that'd be a hell of a deal.(granted, I don't shoot .223..but I'd pick some up just for the sake of having it, lol)

Got an email this morning that Cheaper Than Dirt has a sale on PMC Bronze 45ACP FMJ.
50 round box at $15.19 is about 30-31cents/round... the cheapest I remember locally (except for TulAmmo) is the 100 round Winchester White Box FMJ at $35.97+tax which is about 38-39cents/round.
I can't calculate shipping on the CTD deal because the site is blocked at my work but it would only take a few boxes to break even with shipping vs the 6% sales tax here in MD.
They also were running a bulk deal on Lake City 5.56/.223 1000rds for $499.95 but I don't follow that caliber and have no idea if that is worth it.

$3.99 for a box of 20 122 grain FMJ or HPs. $5 shipping for purchases over $99 with the promo code 2FALL, valid until 10/14. It's re-branded Wolf.
For CT at least, that works out to $111.40 taxed & shipped for 500 rds., and $217.49 taxed & shipped for 1000 rds. Best deal out there at the moment.

NoDub pointed this out to me in a PM...
AIM Surplus has a M6A2 "Classic" upper for $995.00 or something. Complete upper, with a 14.7" barrel and pinned A2 hider. The only catch is that the quad rail doesn't have sling mounts, and you get the "old" style two piece bolt carrier (instead of the fancy nickel-boron single piece carrier and advanced combat bolt.
Great deal for those tempted by piston guns.![]()
