205/45/16 would be a lot better for you...

What size tires should I buy so they won't rub

Right now I am running 16x6.5 on 205 55 16 got the tires with the wheels and I put them on and they rub pretty bad on bumps. What tires should I put I need a lot thinner of tire or can I stretch tires on them? Let me know what you guys suggest my car is a MKIII jetta btw

Would 205/40/16 be better if I am looking to go lower soon...nothing extreme prolly 1.5 inches in the front and like 1 inch in the back
