Ok, I'm confused. Im not trying to stir anything up but, all APR flashes are already free to upgrade...and the add says free install for purchased upgrades which contradicts itself because the APR upgrades are already free? And I did purchase my "initial" install and it wasn't free.

I think what you are confusing is the Free software versus Free install. Yes the software is free for upgrading an existing customer but Free install is in conjunction with making a purchase in the same transaction. If you already have APR software upgrades are free, labor is not. For example if you have a 2.0T Fsi and you do the HP fuel pump, the change to that software or "upgrade" is no charge for APR's product(the software) as it is simply a different version, however there is a charge of $26 for the labor/time to perform the flash.

In the first post "ECU Upgrade" refers to said purchases meaning an upgrade from stock. It also says "Virtually all", what virtually excludes is '97-'00 A4(as many of those need an actual soldered in chip), Tiguan ecu upgrades as they are quite involved to remove the ecu, as well as reflashes (reflashes are changes to ecu's which already have software like stage2/2+ for pump or high flow cat)

Also I checked to make sure on your particular case to verify you were not incorrectly charged, and you did not pay for install when you got your ecu initially flashed. You paid $599 plus tax, no labor/install fee.
