I don't know if this would help or not but... Can we get any info from a 2013 gti and have that help figuring any of this out. From what I've heard they have the ability to fully disable traction control. Again I have no idea if this will help or not, just a thought.
I've read almost 80% of this thread and thus far I've come to the conclusion that I am still confused.
Is there a defeat available by unplugging the ABS fuse?
Has anyone successfully done this?
Are the side-effects simply lights on the dash, no abs, and no ESP?

I can defeat both with the long press of the button on my 12 R with 24k miles. They reset when the car is restarted. I bought the car used and assumed that it was never tweaked or tuned but based in what i've seen in this thread someone must have used a vag-com to disable it.
What's your opinion on this?
