174WHP On a Tired Motor is stronger than stock. lol That with a 15% Drive Line Loss makes 200.1HP @ Crank.

Just did a bit of snooping under the valve cover this morning. Looks very clean.

Next, pull the oil pan and inspect what's above it

Down to just the block and tranny in the engine bay and coolant hoses

AC, power steering and abs are gone.

Next, drain coolant and remove everything. Got new everything waiting in the basement for install
once I clean the engine bay. Wiring is a disaster and distributor is broken, like anyone else, I've uncovered way more than I thought I had to. The overhaul is turning into a complete do over.

Have to go pick up my power washer at my old shop.

Cant ever win with these damn cars.

On the other hand, I bet $ that's the original head from the 3.1. In which case, have the oversized valve setup along with the abt cams etc. NGP probably swapped blocks and kept the original head, I know the og block was def. trashed. Speaking with Nate, he told me it was a direct 2.8 replacement long block. I didn't question it or do much investigating tho. Thats awesome. Your lucky I didnt know, that thing would be on my vrt right now. Doing an awesome job mike, really glad your giving this car what it deserves.

Let the healing begin. Power washed the engine bay, next paint, then reassembly.

Looking at your oil filter housing it looks like you have the dual pole VDO sender. You should be able to ditch the brown temp sender on top and the 90 degree elbow, then just thread the VDO sender directly into the filter housing. This is the same setup I run in both Corrado's. Cleans things up a bit.

Good info! Do I wire them both to the vdo sender after removing the brown one?

Removing the rest of that stuff tomorrow, and painting the block and hopefully frame rails. I have the proper factory matching paint. My only two concerns at this point are the wiring (it's horrible) and the cooling fans.

      Should I retain stock fans???

Also I need to remove AC and abs wiring since they were deleted, Bentley here I come.

Stock fans work really well when they are sorted properly. I'm not a "fan" of deleting the AC, power steering, power windows, power locks, sunroof, fog lights, turn signals, Fuba, roof rails, or the ABS.

      Yes.
I understand. My directionals were deleted before I bought the car. However the AC, ABS and PS have always been deleted on my cars. Sunroof, door locks, windows and all other items are staying.

Corrado ready for re-assemble. Block is painted and the touch up on the frame rails done.

This part will take longer as it cost $$$

      Wiring last

While you have it apart you might want to swap cams. Those abts are pretty, but have always dynoed about the same as stock.
