Well, at work today my car got pummeled with hail. Almost looked like it snowed outside. Will get to see the damage when I pull into my garage tonight after work. Definitely not what I wanted to spend money on right now I'll get pics tomorrow after I wipe it down.

Just got back from Amfam Drive In location. Car received $1500 dollars in dents which turned out to be smaller than what I thought when I looked at it outside. Still no pictures, car is too dirty to see dents in pictures.

OK, last two mods before getting the car PDR'd. I received the inner tail light from OEM+, and ordered the blue tinted Aspherical mirrors.

ECS sent me two passenger side mirrors so I have to wait until they can send out another set. The mirror I installed before noticing they were dupes looked awesome though! Cant wait to get the right parts in.

    Pic of tail lights:

Looking great. Good to see another base car. No arm rests improve back posture.

    Thanks!

Some more cleaned and waxed pics showing the aspherical mirrors.

Also replaced the hub cap with the clips that I broke when putting them back on. I placed them back on the car. Kind of at a standstill as far as actual mods go but soon. Still up are the sports springs and Velos.

    Happy Hump Day!

Beautiful car that you keep nice and shiny!!!:thumb up:

How hard was it to install the aspherical mirrors?
I am thinking they would look pretty cool on my Candy White 2012 2.5.

Also thinking about debadging the 2.5 but SWMBO says she will kill me...:bang head:

    Keep up with the pics!
What type of camera are you using? The images are crystal clear and sharp!

    ^^ Thank you!

Not hard at all. I wasn't even that careful taking the old ones out and nothing broke on me. You just have to angle the mirrors so that you can get your fingers behind them. Then you just put even pressure to pull them out making sure to disconnect the heating elements for the mirrors. You can then just pop the new ones on.

I ended up leaving a very small scrape while pulling the mirrors out on the black plastic around the mirror housing. t is thankfully hidden behind the glass.

The camera is just a Samsung point and shoot camera that came with Intelli-Studio. I sharpen up the images in the editing software and add contrast and such.

Easy to keep the car clean in Missery these days. My dad tells me it has rained twice in a month, and it has been 100 + for about as long.

StL2.5 should get hazard duty pay for washing his car in that heat.

STL2.5. I am making the trip to the St. Lu for the Seattle Game Sept 30. Might be nice to see your car during tailgating if you plan on going to the game.

You're not kidding on the hazzard duty pay. It has been pretty miserable as far as the heat goes. Its nice for keeping the car clean like you said. It almost looks like fall down a lot of the streets of my neighborhood with the leave that have fallen early.

I would love to do a meet and I would definitely try to make it. I'm usually working through the games though at a hotel right across the street. I'm also still in the process of figuring out a move to PHX that will be around late Sep. early Oct. PM me as the date gets a little closer.

I have the exact same car! Same color and everything! I like where this is going!

I've only had mine two weeks. All I've done thus far is debadged the "golf" and dealer sticker from the hatch, and put in amber city lights. Clear side markers are in the mail.

I had a euroswitch and fogs in my mk4 and loved it but the whole vag-com with the mk6 thing is scaring me... How hard was the install?

Dealer pic the day I picked it up:

Pic next to my old mk4 (after it had been stripped to sell):

Keep up the good work and I'll do the same!

I had the dealer install the fogs. The entire kit was through ECS Tuning. They included all the parts to make them work without VAGCOM. So you will not have cornering lights or anything like that. The only thing I have VAGCOM'd is the auto up/down windows with remote, the rear fog light and side markers disabled.

Try unchecking bit 4 in byte 4 of the 09 - Central Electronics. This works on my 2010, but I have not been able to get it to work on any of the 2012 GTIs in our crew. I'm the only one with a 2.5L Golf MKVI in Crystal Coast Euros. This will allow your windows to continue going up or down after someone opens a door. Closing the door, though, does stop the windows.

Bit 2 of byte 27 (09 -CE) will allow you to install LED running/Park lights without the bulb out warning.

Bit 1 and/or 2 of Byte 16 will cause your brake lights and/or blinker lights to flash when ABS Brakes are activated. They continue to flash until you start rolling again.

I think they are amazing. They really get rid of the blind spot all together. When I can see the car in my peripherals, I still see a little of the back end of the car in the mirror. The blue tint is especially nice at night with headlights and such. Rally love the product a lot!

ECS' brand. OEM is only non tinted. From what I have been told they will eventually yellow. When they do I will switch to OEM.

yup, personally i think it looks cheap no matter where you do it, emblems rims etc.

thats just my opinion, hate me for it, i couldnt care less.

Honestly i think the back looks best with just a debagde, and the front with a bagless grill. little tweaks here and there to suit what you like and your set.

The back absolutely looks better de badged. And so does the front grille. But for people who don't have mommy and daddy to buy us a car and are supporting kids of our own. Plasti dip works for now. It looks good on my car cuz my car is black. I wouldn't do it on any other color car. Plasti dipped rims are just retarted.

100% agree with the above. Do what you want with your car. I don't think that plastidip looks good on a car. I like the way our cars look with just the model name debadged.

Plasti dipped emblems, parking lights, and rear reflectors. Doesn't look cheap at all.

The Chrome emblems stand out too much for my taste. I plasti dipped everything carefully so it won't look cheap. I understand why you don't like dip but when done right it don't look cheap. Just looks like aftermarket black emblems and black lights. Point is, do what you want to your car. Except the kid with 14 German flags and angry birds on his car.lol

    Small Update:

Took my car to the great guys at Euro SS Tuning off of I-17 by Deer Valley Airport and had them Vagcom some things for me. Anyone in the Phoenix are needs to go to these guys. Very nice people and good prices for services. Will bring my car here when I get my lowering springs.

    What was done:

    Seat belt chime off.
Comfort Signal to five clicks instead of three.
