If anyone has replaced their steering wheel on an '01-'03 EV with one from another model VW, can you advise which models had the same diameter/spline arrangement in the hub?

Our's is disintegrating in the 11 o'clock area (I think its where the PO held their cigarette while driving).

I recall someone fitting a 3 spoke wheel from a MKIV golf/jetta but never identified if it was a direct fit.

    Cheers!

I think the mk 4 is one of the ones that fits the splines. The thing with Vanagon & Eurovan steering wheels is they're bigger in diameter though. If you like to rest your arms on the arm rests while steering you won't be able to do that as easily with a smaller diameter wheel. That was a major factor for me. I ended up spending $400 on a Projectzwo leather wheel for my Vanagon when I changed it out

I'm interested in changing the steering wheel too. Is the airbag from the MKIV plug and play on the EV?

I got R32 Steering wheel in my T4. You just have to buy adapter from your local dealership.

Do you have the part number for the adapter? Also, does the air bag still connect properly?
