    hey dunno where to post this so im postin here and in the audio section so im hopin a vw guy can answer it before monday. i had to replace my head unit and a friend put a touchscreen in his car so he gave me his old one, i have all the numbers i need to get the code for the radio but dealers are closed still sunday, anyone know of anyway online or can a vw service guy help me out i know some have access to the online stuff at home that they do in shop to look things up.

    Your friend should have gotten the security code from the dealer when he bought the car new. Ask him to check in the binder where his owner's and warranty manuals are. Should be on a blue and white wallet-sized card marked "Radio card/CodeCard."

    Problem is, since these new audio units are matched to the cars they originally came with, and you therefore never need the code with the original car, a lot of times the dealer forgets to provide the code.

    yea thats what happened he doesnt have it but i have the numbers off the radio and his vin so i guess ill have to wait till monday and call the dealer
