So I figure with this thread being still around... May as well use it for a timeline of sorts. Definitely not a regularly updated thing, but hey... Why not?
2008 R32.. Well.. Errr .:Rabbit.
Ksport V1 coilovers with Bilstien rear shocks and custom spring rates
OZ Pegasus 17x8.5/9.5 with 205/45's all around
Rabbit front bumper/GTI sides and rear
Porsche Boxster Brembo's
Momo Corse
Dash cubby
Interlagos
Custom exhaust
CinnaBerry for days...
As we all know, I had a pretty stout 2.5T Rabbit. It was an amazing 4 years with it, but I ended up parting it out to move to MD for a new job. In the end... I also realized that the engine was starting to give out... So I figured with the bump in pay/life, It was time to upgrade and let that little gem go... I still regret it sometimes.
October 25th... The day I laid eyes on this:
Shaved sidemarkers/rear reflectors/hatch. Fk highsports (later found out were from a gti). Worked out a solid deal and left quite happy... Only 27k on the clock!
Seeing that it had fk's... I had to spin them down. That and immediately slap on a Magnaflow Sport:
The exhaust was about 800 miles short lived. Too much drone.. That and I wasn't a fan of shaved stuff. I promised myself I wouldn't put anywhere near as much money into this one as the last... So I had an idea. Part the shaved stuff and go stock track car with it. (again, short lived idea...)
Traded the hatch, but had no luck on the rear lower and front bumper... Decided to do something totally radical... And took a crack at it:
A few days later... She looked like this..
There was NO way I was going to leave it like this... So some drastic measures/parts hunting began...
Little bit of this: (custom springs/bilstien rear shocks ordered to go with these badboys)
Little bit of that:
And the end result....
Eff plastic skid pans...
The wheels were a great fit/width, but didn't really do the car justice... Went out on a limb, and took a shot in the dark, and wound up on these bad boys....
Slapped some momo goodness in there (taking care of paddles/mfd controls.. My horn works too).
After that I finally found a shop to run my exhaust exactly how I wanted... Good stuff
Well.. That's about it for now... Not bad for only spending $565.00...![]()

I'm not gonna say you ruined an r because you didn't but why trade away the side skirts and rear end? Also why do the rear calipers red? The rabbit front end on an r looks great, how come you want everything else to look like a gti?
#18
car looks perdy!
but Y U CHANGE FRONT END TO WABBIT? R is better so is gti/jetta..
It's always the least brightest bulb in the box that I wanna screw

Well there wouldn't be any side skirts at all if it weren't for those holes from the side skirt rails. The rear is temporary until I pick up a shaved rabbit rear. the whole point of the mini "build" (if you even consider this a build) was an R in rabbit's clothing. As aft as the brakes go, the rears belong to kidversion1, as his pretty blue brakes came from me. They'll be painted to match the fronts later.![]()
I've done my homework on the brakes, and they do in fact rule (and the weight Savings is nice too).

Ok,.I have to ask why your rotors backward? If they are true drilled and slotted rotors then the vanes in the center will be channeled out at an angle. Why may I ask or are they straight vanes?

Looks nice and simple.. Even though it's not. I like it![]()

4 pot rotors?
got a shot where you can see the caliper and rotor behind the wheel?
#33
I think the Rabbit front is the cleanest... Less going on.
See? Kid and I had a short discussion about this... He said from his searching that it really didn't matter (They're adams rotors, they're just milled OEM's I believe.. They should be straight vanes)... So I just left them on the same sides as he had... Thanks for the heads up though!
Thanks dude.
Yours is cooler... Pshhhh.
Well, it's only the calipers and carriers... I have no idea. May sell them, may put the carriers on the wife's tdi and buy rotors... I have no clue. Want them??
Thanks guys.
I'll get a pic later today... Right now's my one weekend a month to me Mr. Mom... Dora the explorer, hot wheels cars, and tons of food has been my morning. lol
