Can we please refrain from posting spoilers guys? Not everyone has read the books yet, myself included.

I'm pretty sure this occurs exactly as it does in the book. ie, Davos and Melisandre boat their way into the cave, she gives birth to demon shadow thing, Davos freaks out, and demon shadow thing does its thing, kicking off many subsequent events. They've done a pretty decent job of keeping all the main points faithful to the books.

Weird. Not remembering that part at all.. I did read all 5 books straight through so much of it blended together, but I thought it happened pretty much exactly like it has on the show so far. Highlighty whitey:
Isn't the black smoke demon baby thing the one that kills Renly, right in front of Brienne and Cat? Hence, everyone blames them for it? Smokebaby has to be born first in order for that to occur, n'est pas?
I could be wrong of course, but this is how I remember it going down.

I'm catching up to this show. Watching first season and it's awesome.
On another note, why do people come here, and then get mad when they read spoilers.
#121
Because some of them are fooking morons but some of them have a point.
If a new show airs Sunday night but you have not watched but come in here and whine about spoilers then you are a moron. What do you think the flurry of posts are about, a new recipe for brownies?
But there are people that have read the books, know what is going to happen, and come in here and spill the beans. That is a no-no IMO.
I expect people to discuss the show up until the last episode that was aired. Anything beyond that should not be discussed IMO. IMO since this the "Movies and Television" forum there should be limited mention of the books.

Bronn would beat Brienne. Bronn isn't worried about honor, he's worried about winning. Brienne is way too concerned with honor.

It was kind of a filler/setup episode but was still good.

I thought more things of note happened in last night's episode than many of the previous ones combined. Really good, and keeps me excited for what's to come.

ok, finally caught up to this show… Loved the 1st season, but not really sure how I feel about this dragon, dark shadow wizardry stuff…
and that little weizel of a King needs to die.
#138
I do not have the issue with that stuff, although I do feel the "smoke monster" part was a little rushed.
On a scale of 1 to 10 the first season was a 12, this is season is just a 10.
Losing the characters of Ned Stark, Robert Baratheon, Khall Drogo was huge. There has been no Jamie Lannister this season and as the antagonist he brought a lot to the show. Also I felt the Robb Stark character had a very strong presence in the first season that seems to be gone from this season.
Before anyone chimes in about the books, I have not read them and have no intentions of reading them so IDNGAF about the books. I have only seen the TV show and am commenting on what I am watching.

As a whole I'm disappointed in this season too. Something does feel missing. BUT... I think the last episode was the best yet, changes from the book and all, so it's giving me hope for the second half.
10 episodes is way too short a season. I know there's production cost constraints, but surely they'd make more money off of a 12 episode season? It would help them not have to rush the story anyway.
