I bought this car back in September for a daily driver. I've been making it all better in the mean time

    The day i bought it.

First thing i did, big bumpers

Then i switched to duel rounds

Then i went with single rounds

then i lowered it and got some tear drops

    Got a spoiler

    I had to get subs..

I finally painted the front bumper

    Red stripe interior

Exhaust i got at U pull it

    and how she sits today

thats it for now. not bad for a 16 year old?

    good work now keep going....

get rid of the teardrops and also get a set of the big bumper front flares...

and paint the lower trim strip of the grille...looks unfinished without it painted....also, buy some red pinstripe and red stripe the grille for an even more finished look...

16 year old budget = tear drops. for now I've been looking for the big bumper flairs at u pull it but havent found any usable ones yet. I will definitely pin stripe the grill! thanks

oh wow, just noticed youre here in Portland...lol!

yeah, also check craigslist..there always seems to be a few guys parting out mk2s here in town, you should be able to score some big bumper flares pretty quick.....Baxter's has some red pinstripe, I wanna say its made by CalStripe, and theyre red is almost a perfect match for TRed...also, one or two of the local parts places, either Baxters or OReillys i think, sells Duplicolor TRed spray paint, its a very good match..stay away from PlastiCoat TRed, its awful, doesnt match at all... a small can of the Duplicolor TRed and you can mask off and paint the lower grille strip really easy.....

Yup! im about mile away from DJM. I think im going to go back to quad grill so ill pin stripe and paint that. I'll keep an eye out for flares. next time sherwood gets new cars im sure they will have them too. I also just got kiwi dye so when its sunny all flairs/ bumpers will be lookin good

Clean Jetta man, but IMO you went a bit backward with it. It looked so crisp at the day of purchase. Either way good luck with it & welcome to the forum.

Edit: if you are going the kiwi route...best to do it indoors and out of the sun.

I couldn't stand those 17's tho... and what you cant see in the pictures is that the front right bumper was hit a little, so it was messed up and so is the bottom part of the fender.. thats why i went with the big bumpers. Its definitely not done yet so stay tuned everyone

Put the small bumpers on until you find skirts. It looks silly as is.

Previous owner had cut 10' holes in the deck lid....

So I went to PickN Pull and found a new deck lid:

Why are you selling? You were off to such a good start.

Please tell me you haven't fallen for a Honda.

So, do all of you Honda bashers realize that the new "Vdub" scene is the old Honda scene?

There has been a "Vdub" scene longer than there has been a Honda scene.

I don't see Honda as inferior, just another option.

I just like how vdubs have so many options from the factory and how you really never see much of the same ones around here... Hondas all look like clones... But what do I know, I'm just a dumb kid haha
