Saw two of these this morning on the harbour bridge. Must be press cars. Reminded me a lot of an RX-8.

TBH I expected you to be in here bagging this car? I think Wayne will probably get the Subaru version if he doesn't already have some money down on one (that he hasn't mentioned to his wife)

haha what makes you think that? I've been saying for years the jap car makers should get back to cars like this, theres a huge market for it imho since buying an over powered, over tyred over expensive euromobile has become almost the only way to buy an interesting car these days and they end up being impressive on the nerdburgring but very much less so around town if license preservation is a priority and given i drive so very little these days i just CBF with them in massive ways.

My old mini panelvan is practically my daily driver now, its a hoot, i drive at 10/10ths everywhere i go coppers dont give me a 2nd look and when it breaks i can fix it. I just kinda wish it had aircon so it'd be ok sometimes to have something a little newer that is a little skid capable hah so it ticks most of my boxes atm really

also f*ck buying a Subaru and not being able to tell people you own a hachi roku and put TRD stickers all over it? WHATS THE F*CKIN POINT!?

I will buy the Subbie if I buy one. I just think it looks better at the front, and I love it in the STi blue. Also there is a Subaru right outside of my estate. Have no clue where to find a Toyota dealer.

Montague St, about 500m from you.

That Subaru dealer is terrible, really doesn't know the market. The (very conservative) gf went to buy a poverty pack impreza for a run about a few years ago. During the test drive, he made her do donuts down at fishermans bend. She drove the car back and went and bought the peugeot instead. Way to pick your target market

Must be your general positive demeanor . This car reminds me of the old Swift GTI. No faster than a 4.0 Falcon but bag loads of fun at legal speeds around townand a surprising enough package in a TLGP. Cheap to run and put tyres on. Drove a Celica GT4 about that time and couldn't see the point around town and at anything less than mental speeds.

Not sure I'm interested in playing the popular car in short supply game though.

It seems that some that have pre-ordered with deposits might not get the car they want i.e. White Auto GT package because the dealers are getting handfuls of whatever they get so there might be a few cars around not taken up.

So I put down the car and colour transmission spec etc that I wanted and put down my order some months ago like we all did. I was under the impression that the car yard I went to and ordered it from would be allocated that car and spec so if the price was right I could pay the full about and away I go. i was first in line with a deposit so I thought I would get first refusal.

My mistake..... The car yards seem to have blind luck then on what they are allocated and the try to swap / barter with other car years to get what you wanted. However I was told that one of the sales men was able to get the car he ordered and has preference to that to I cannot have that one.
What a crock of ****!!!!! I placed my order so when the rest of Australia finally wanted one they would have to get inline.

Now it seems any car dealer who wanted one will get there car and the general public will have to wait.
If they cannot find a dealer that will trade what they have been allocated i could be waiting quit along time to get what I ordered.
If some one else would like to enlighten me on this whole process feel free to go nuts and fill me in on how this process works altogether.

      Thanks very much in advance.
I emailed 42 NSW dealers today, and then the ones that could help came to me. i started out calling a few dealerships and thought... F that, a few people were helpful but all in all, email is so much more practical. i got yes's no's and maybe's give me your moneys. easy to sort through.

Within 10 minutes of sending i had found my car

Zorg, yes yes, there is that Toyota! Smarm, I have no idea where the other Toyota you mention is? Is it mainly commercial vehicles? That is all i can visualise. Actually I just noticed there is Mazda near where you said the other day too. I am surprised how much my eyes filter out what I don't wanna see lol.

In all this talk of the Toyota, everyone's forgotten about the Subaru.

I wonder if the BRZee is the same car as the BRZed?
