For those that have never been to Wüste, it is a must attend event. And if you're like myself, you'll love it and go every year! The dates for Wüste this year is June 1-3, 2012. And they moved it back to the Palace Station! The rough details are to leave on Thursday the 31st, Stay one night in Sacramento, meet up with SacWater, then head to Barstow to join the main convoy to arrive in Vegas on Friday night in time to join the festivities.
I started to put this cruise together basically to create a guide to the PNW peeps that want to make the trek down. But as I started the initial planning, I decided that it needs to be more than just a drive down. So I thought we could add a few events to it. Making it a poker run was the first idea. Raffling off a few prizes along the way was another idea. So that is what I will leave open to everybody. Give me some feedback on what everybody would like and we'll make that happen.
What you need:
1- A car
2- A co-driver is recommended.
3- A walkie talkie is strongly recommended! Not only for informational value, but for entertainment as well.
Wüste Information:Everything you need to find about the event itself can be found on their website.
http://www.wuste.com/
Along with reservation details for the Palace Station.
Sacramento Hotel:http://www.sacramentosuper8.com/
A 2 queen room is $65.99/night. If you share a room with a few friends it makes it fairly cheap.
I will be giving printed directions and a Wüste or Büste sticker to everyone in Woodburn. Sticker colors will be decided at a later date.
So the rough itinerary!
5 am- Leave Krispy Creme in Tacoma at on Thursday and head towards Woodburn, OR to meet up with anyone from the PDX area.
7:45-8:00am- Arrive at the Shell in Woodburn (Exit 271)
8:30am- Depart from Woodburn. Head South on I-5 towards Grants Pass.
Stop 1- Rest Area Exit (94 miles) Gettings Creek Rest Area
Stop 2- Exit 58 (217miles) Arrive in Grants Pass for fuel and food. Shell station and various fast food restaurants located down the street. (Exit 58)
Stop 3- Exit 649 (206 miles) Arrive Red Bluff, CA. Chevron for Fuel and McDonalds.
Stop 4- Exit 520 (129miles) Arrive in Sacramento, CA. Super 8 motel.
With travel time and fuel stops, we should arrive in Sacramento around 7:30pm. Early enough to get checked in and find some dinner.
Friday morning: Meet up with the SacWater group. I don't have details for their convoy yet, but I will work on getting those.
Leave Sacramento with SacWater heading towards Barstow. There will be multiple fuel/food stops along the way.
Arrive in Barstow. Fuel up, Join main convoy to Vegas.
Arrive in Vegas at Palace Station and join already ongoing festivities

I'm in!
I went last year, but this year will be my first having to come down from the PNW.

Last year we drove straight through to Vegas and didn't stop for the night in California, and I'm definitely glad we did it. Ended up arriving at around 7 am and did an early check-in to the hotel. The Waterwerks convoy ended up being a cluster**** from the get-go, as we didn't leave Krispie Kream until 10ish am, and then trying to stick with a group all the way down there was just painful.
I plan on driving with a co-polit, and probably starting off with your convoy, but will probably get off your course at some point.
Wuste was fantastic last year, and I'm beyond excited. Hotel room was booked months ago, and I'm working up my liquor tolerance.![]()

I know sacwater is in the planning stages of a caravan. We still do not know how many(sacwater) are coming. Or how many caravans there is going to be . Last year there were 2 (Thus and Fri). I have booked my room. I am so looking forward to this.

Post up a time when you guys think you will be rolling in. I'm moving down to Vegas in about a month. Wouldn't mind having some drinks with all of you.
