Autotech is offering 40% off list price for a single Golf VI R Wavetrac front differential in exchange for performance feedback.

We need the owner to get our unit installed within 2 weeks.

list price is $1095 but this special offer is $657

please email me nathan@autotech.com, I prefer emails over PM's

I'm talking to my garage about getting it done....

Will this cause any issues with the Haldex system?

Is Autotech covering the installation as well or just discounting the price of the hardware?

I'm not sure having an LSD up front and an open rear is an improvement. I'd think you'd want a rear before the front. Too bad that'll never happen.

I've seen (what appear to me to be) good arguments for doing front first and others for doing rear first. Agreed that the rear will never happen.

    Nathan, you've got PM.

Peloquin had both a front and rear differential for the MkIV & V R32s, I would assume it's only a matter of time before they make a rear for the R20.

I believe it was a space issue not what could or couldn't be done. Time will tell.

X3. Once the front is overwhelmed by traction and steering tasks, you want to reduce forward torque there and shove it to the back, so the front can do the steering portion better.

Conversely, if the front inner wheel loses traction and you are starting to lift the rear inner wheel, you lose most forward acceleration even though the outer rear still has perfect traction available. A rear LSD would hand that to the outer rear, pushing the car in the intended direction, and again relieving traction tasks from the outer front wheel that then can be used for steering. Success.
