I can say that the quality is great and the color is very close to our A4 Quattro led. I'll try to take a pic with cars side by side tomorrow.

I don't have any day pics yet as I just put them on. Took about 5 minutes total.

I got the same bulb as yours... Can't wait to have those installed on my ride.

Welcome to the Vortex Ostar. Its bit different setup than the VAGSG huh? I was just in Singapore for a couple weeks for work but didn't get a chance to check the vw scene. Hope the LEDs work out for ya.

Oh, I think shld be the same. Except for some variant like engine capacity, accessories. Singapore only have 1.4 tsi, twin charge or single charge option. The original bulb for drl is filament type with 21w. The mounting in the pics seems to be the same... Keeping my finger cross... Haha

I wrote e-mail for v-leds and they said that these bulbs can overheat in drl's because they are designed to BACK-UP/TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (for a short functioning)
    http://www.v-leds.com/5K-WHITE-LED-7...68204-1-2.html

Here's what they wrote to me "We do not currently offer a DRL in a 1156 type bulb, we will in the future but they are months away. Sorry for the inconvenience."

Don't get ones from advanced auto. Mine burnt out after a couple months and has been throwing up the bulb warning light since day 1

X2. Looking for a quality pure white LED DRL that will not over heat or throw any codes.

May have to try the eagleye's, they are quite expensive however if they work it may be worth the investment. have only found one usa led company on ebay claiming to sell 1156 DRL LED's just do a search for 1156 drl led and its the first one up with like 36 led's on each bulb

Went with 1156 led's from napa only 16.00 per bulb. Are ok to run as drl no heat issues.

No codes. There were ok, but not as bright as stock. The looked cool, but not really bright enough for DRL's more like Dusk/DawnRL's.

I just splurged and put these in tonight. They are the 12 Watt Eagle EYE SMT Tower.

    http://autolumination.com/1156_1157.htm

They are brighter than stock and if I had to put a number on it, 3 or 4 times as bright as the 18 SMD LED's that I had.

Will have to watch for heat issues. No codes yet.

One thing I found is that it's damn hard to convey what these actually look like in a photograph.

The Eagle eyes are bluer than other LED, but not ricey. IMO.

Another description would be that if I get down on level with the lights, while the glow is consistent throughout the reflector, that forward facing led will spot my eyes.

I'm going to try to get a pic in full daylight to really show how bright they are.
when you order are you getting a set of 4 bulbs for the 29$ ?

Has anyone tried the autolumination cree 5w bulbs ?
Wide angle or spotlight , what do you recommend ?

Glad to hear some of these LED's are working without throwing any codes, I drive a GLI and I know these to be more sensitive to LED's for whatever reason. I am curious if anybody knows why the DRL's work fine with LED's but they wont work for the license plate?? And is everyone running these without any mods with the vagcom?

All in how the bulb is set up to project the beam. Whether its a wide or spotlight focus. This one looks closest to the eagle eye tower by autolumination at almost half the cost. Most people have had great results with this style bulb from what I've read, just didn't want to spend 60.00 + for two led bulbs. Will post up pictures once I get them installed

DIY on how to install the drl bulbs? Just takes some finesse, they come right out 2 minutes tops to install.
