Not the best pic, but gives a pretty good idea of how bright the lights are. They're only 11 watts so bright enough, considering how bright it was outside, with the sun still up and all.

And yes, car's filthy. She went to Vegas and back. Lol

I have no idea what happened to xtralights, I ordered from them and had no issues at all and got them in 4 days. Maybe they sold out on supply I don't know. Sorry to hear everyone's troubles with them, doesn't even look like now the one's I purchased are available anymore. I would not have recommended them had I known they would have these issues, but like I said only reason I recommended them was bc of price, performance of the bulb and how quickly i got them.

I bought a set from xtralights...One went out within 4 days. I had to fill out an RMA and ship the bulb back to them for consultation. It's been over 2 weeks without any contact from them...

They were bright as hell though.

I picked up some from Luce at h2o this year. $20/pair, just put them in yesterday and so far so good. No codes or anything either. We'll see how they go. Don't mind the dirty car in the pics. She's fresh off of a 9 hour drive back from Ocean City, MD.

I finally got someone at Xtralights to answer the question about the delay. Their response was that they have had "issues" with the version 1 of these lights and are expecting to get version 2 in by 10/15. They will then be fulfilling orders. We shall see what happens.

I'm looking for somewhere else to purchase from. I haven't had any luck with xtralights answering anything and have a dispute open with paypal right now. If I somehow get those magic V2 ones from them, then i'll just have extras. It's not the money that pisses me off, it's that I'm still waiting to get my car fixed up.

xtralights have removed those drl's from their site now.

No codes. There were ok, but not as bright as stock. The looked cool, but not really bright enough for DRL's more like Dusk/DawnRL's.

I just splurged and put these in tonight. They are the 12 Watt Eagle EYE SMT Tower.

    http://autolumination.com/1156_1157.htm

They are brighter than stock and if I had to put a number on it, 3 or 4 times as bright as the 18 SMD LED's that I had.

Will have to watch for heat issues. No codes yet.

One thing I found is that it's damn hard to convey what these actually look like in a photograph.

The Eagle eyes are bluer than other LED, but not ricey. IMO.

Another description would be that if I get down on level with the lights, while the glow is consistent throughout the reflector, that forward facing led will spot my eyes.

I'm going to try to get a pic in full daylight to really show how bright they are.
i just bought the eagle eyes but have no idea to install them can you give me a guide of some sort? it would be appreciated.

I would be interested in buying these for my Jetta as well but I'm curious to know if they have any heating issues?

It's like 6500k, kinda too blue for me at night but seems fine during the day. I still feel 5k white would be the best.

    Bump it up.

Only to express my anger towards Xtralights. I would never wish their customer service upon anyone.

After filling out a page long Return Material Authorization form and shipping a bulb back to them on my dime, I haven't heard from them in almost 5 weeks. Knowing what I know now, I would have just paid the extra $10 and bought the bulbs from Vleds or elsewhere.

I share your frustration. After 5 weeks I finally got my money back from xtralights. No response from them at all. Had to dispute it through paypal then escalate. But I got finally got my money back.

I ordered some from somewhere else that'll be here friday now, but I plan on getting the 5k ones from vleds once they're back in stock. I talked to vleds and they did promise to get more, but that they aren't that popular, so they aren't in a rush to get them. Of course they also said they don't recommend them for drls, but who cares, they look great and others here have reported no issues with them.

If you know of anywhere else that has those in 5k, please pass it on. I'm not interested in having any type of bluish tint to my lights.

Finally got my lights from xtralights, installed, but the drivers side light blinks like a turn signal. Do I have a bum bulb?

I further share all your anger towards xtralights.

I ordered my drl white led lights. Got no lights after 2 months .Called them and they said that its been shipped. Cancelled it, reorder it back. finally got it in 2 weeks time. Was happy. Tried it on. Saw the error came up on the cluster. Was angry. Saw the bulb lit red instead of white .. major explosion in my brain!!!!WTH

Sounds about right. Check out v-leds. They're getting a whole new lines of LEDs in that look awesome. Most are preorder right now, but will be in soon. I got some cheap leds for now, but will be replacing with some of the new ones from v-leds soon.

Those look pretty legit for led's. You dont need to drop that much money on lights though. If you wanna go bright id say go with autolumination eagle eyes. I personally have the same lights as panzer (first picture above). I posted deeper in the thread my pics of them too they are hidxenonlights 1156 led's its a nice glow and cheap with no codes and fast shipping

    I asked vled customer service:

I am looking for a bulb that does not require any extra wiring, just plug and play and does not give any error codes. Thanks in advance.
    -------------------------------
    They replied:

Unfortunately, you will not find an LED that will not throw codes on a VW vehicle.

You will have to add load VIA load resistors.

    Thank you,

    Customer Service

FWIW, No codes with 12W (still going strong in my DRL's) or 14W (too bright for DRL's using as my reverse lights) autoillumination Eagle Eyes.

what FWIW means & the autoillumination eagle eyes, is it a bulb alone or does it come with wiring?

I sent a note to CS at xtralights and they replaced my bulb within 2 days. Installed Sunday. Love it. GLI looks awesome with those LED DRLs.
