Hiya everyone;
I've actually made it to 3 years post cancer and it's almost time once again to raise funds to help support other young adults with cancer and have a good time in the sun with our VWs!

Welcome Spring at the 3rd Annual 'damn cancer' VW Show!

*Sunday 27 May, 2012*
Thorndale Fairgrounds (just NE of London - south of St. Marys).

Only $10/car entry, goodie bags, 50/50 draw and door prizes!
People's Choice Awards for fave air-cooled and fave water-cooled VW.

Local camping nearby on Saturday night if you're so inclined and a food booth will be provided at the Show by the Thorndale Optimist Club! (best chips anywhere

).

We may even have t-shirts this year if I can find some at the right price

.

Oh yeah;
We will have a Vendors' section this year too and it doesn't cost extra to vend!

Just pay your $10 to enter and set up behind the pavillion with your wares

Sunday next Volks!

The VW ARMY stuffed a whole lot of goodie bags yesterday!

Here's directions for those who don't read Google maps

.

From the 401 East: (i.e. TO)
Exit at Highway 73 (aka Elgin Road), go North through the stoplight by the Golfcourse, then continue North to Highway 2 (light at 3 Bridges Automotive), turn LEFT, continue to Fairview Road (there's kind of a manky old car place at the corner; if you reach Shaw Road, you've gone too far) then turn RIGHT on Fairview (the only way you can go :p ). Go up about 5km and the Fairgrounds' Show entrance is on the Left as soon as you come into Thorndale

From NE: (i.e. KW/Stratford from Highway 7). Take Highway 7 West from Stratford, and at Cobble Hills Road, turn LEFT (south), to Thorndale Road aka Road 84 or Medway Rd, then turn RIGHT; continue about 5 km into Thorndale, LEFT on Fairview Rd (2nd road in Thorndale) and the gate is about 200m up on your right).

From London, take Dundas St. to Nissouri Road, turn left (N), then turn RIGHT at Eveyln Dr (just past Heeman's greenhouse) and then LEFT at Fairview (next road); go about 4km and the Fairground gate is on your LEFT

)!

Thanks to everyone who came out! We had fun til about noon when the weather went rubbish but we raised over $900 for Wellspring Stratford

.

Despite the rain, we had 63 VWs and good times.

The hat looks better on the little guy than I think it would on me, glad I left it (picked it up and had a look but grabbed one of the Dalmar VW key lanyards instead).

Was a LOT of awesome cars!
I had my red '88 Audi 90 quattro there just before it started raining.
Tried to wait it out for a while but we had to call it a day eventually and head home.
Hope there's no rain next year!

Ya I had grabbed a shirt first but then he was so upset because he wanted the hat so I grabbed it. Only problem was once I got home and showed him some of the old Fast commercials I couldn't get him to stop running around pretending he was Fast lol. Upside was he fell asleep by 7:30 lol.
