so.. iv got the exhaust flapper from the r32.. what im planning to do is use it as a wastegate type device but on a vr6 so it screams... but only at about 4500rpm... so basically using a Y pipe on the downpipe section it would be a mini screamer/atmo dump pipe sort of..

now for this to open at certain rpm it would need some signal.. so i was thinking a cheap ebay shift light which allows you to dial in what rpm to light up.. and hooking that up to the r32 exhaust flap solenoid which will operate and give vacuum to close the flap..

now how would i do this to make the flap close at start up of the car and only open at the dialed in rpm of the shift light?

im not 100% sure if the solenoid is just positive n negative signals.. if so then just connect the shift light signal to the negative of the solenoid so it would cut off when the shift light comes on?

any help would be appreciated.. thanks

my research tonight is that the valve has power from fuse 34, and that the ECU just switches ground on/off. My ecu has reflash that has disabled the flap- always flap open, and always circuit open. I will try tomorrow to take that grey/blue wire to ground ( that runs from flap to ECU) in the car, and test it
