Just like the post says...I'm considering buying some Ultimo's and would like to get any idea if they're gonna be a good choice. obviously Bilstien or H&R would be preferred but as always, money is tight.

i got them on my 00' Jetta. gf had some on her 02' Jetta. wouldn't exactly rate them at top notch, but they will get you low. I definitely wouldn't consider them for any kind of track purposes.

this. cheap coils are exactly what theyre name entitles. cheap coilovers. dont track them if you wanna handle good but if your looking to go low they will do the trick. also any coil will ride like **** when they are wound down, as your loosing travel.

Ok, so how do they ride in the real world? Harsh? Just firm? Too soft?? How's the cornering?

IMHO they ride like crap. However they are better than nothing (and cutting your springs) we just wanted to slam the sh*t out of our cars. As far as wanting to go low, you can't beat the price. If you want a decent handling car, save up a little more and look into a cup kit. If you want the best of both worlds, obviously you would be looking into big name coilovers which means more $$$$$. And as previously stated, the lower you go, the sh*ttier it's gonna get.

Does anyone have any experience with those adjustable CXRacing coilovers on Ebay for $600 shipped?

A friend of mine just put them on his GF's Mk4 Jetta. Said they ride great. He dumped it too. Said the extra $50 over Rokkor or Racelands was totally worth it.

Why you rushin' me man? This isn't the kind of decision you make impulsively....def a case of "measure twice, cut once" Also I have modest income so it can't just come back a month later and decide "naaah, I don't like these Ultimos...I'm gonna go drop $1,100 on some H&R's "

I just installed Ultimos on my mk4 I didn't dump it stupid low and the ride is great, a lot better then I thought it would be. I had Belstein PSS on my old mk2 before and the right was harsh, it's night and day as far as comfort goes with ultimos. Can't go wrong for the price.

Comfort is great for straight line freeway comfort but how do they "handle" in the twisties?

I'd like to but this will push me out until the end of summer as where I'd prefer to have this installed by the beginning of summer. Also, I'm not sure I want to endow this car with coils that nice as I prolly won't have it 2yrs from now.

They are average in the corners, but more then coilovers are needed for that anyways. I would just get Ultimos if you don't plan on having the car forever anyways you wont be disappointed.
