Thread: Warped Caliper Bracket?

I'm new to the forum so I'm not sure if I have the right place. I think my rear drivers side caliper bracket is bent, how it happened I have no idea. I have a 2002 Jetta 1.8. I was putting on new rotors and pads. When I went to replace the drivers side rear pads the outside pad wiggled off but the pad on the inside was stuck pretty bad. I put a new pad in but had to use more force than I felt comfortable with. I took it for short drive and got a burn smell. Its not a dragging caliper because the piston still works. The slider pins are fine, they still move. I had to pry the new pad off the bracket. Do you think it may be warped?
