Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect. - Mark Twain
A little further investigation indicates that this guy is all into I.C.E. (what they used to call car stereo douche-baggery in the early 2000's, when it was popular). He has posts on sound-deadening material, etc.
So, let's get this straight. The guy who owns the absolute lowest of the low end 2006 Mercedes models (in the U.S.A.), who wants to invest in car stereo equipment (probably the worst investment known to man), is criticising the guy who is living within his means and enjoying a nice, new car before he is saddled down with kids, etc.?
The Car Lounge. I love it.

Also, to the OP, great choice
I don't see the coupe even listed on the M-B website yet. Looks like you will be one of the first with it in North America.
I would (personally) have opted for a 335is or an M3 with a 6-speed, but I definitely see the draw of that beast. Plus, the C-Class looks phenominal. I drove a co-worker's C350, and even that was fairly impressive. I have a feeling that the C63 is redonk.
The C230 thread
2006/2007 Jetta threadShot in the dark, but the NW Mercedes community is lacking. Does anyone know an installer familiar with Mercedes stereo installs? This particular one doesn't have COMAND (aka their fiber optic system). Trying to help a friend find someone who can do an install. Any suggestions? I told him to get an Audi already but not an option right now.
One of the big failings of the Gen iV car is the interior noise. On the highway, it's just horribly loud and that leads to a lot of driver fatigue.
InsideLine is one great site for listing car noise. When they first tested the 2005 model, they listed it as having 65 DB interior noise. That's BMW/Mercedes territory and beyond. The few other tests I've used to measure this are higher. Does anyone have any good reference for how loud these cars are? Has anyone done any actual tests?
Either way, comes off sounding like a jealous loser.

Hubba hubba! LOVE the color combo.
Are these available with a manual? Just out of curiosity.
wow thanks guys. As for financial situation. I've maxed out my rrsp's this year, but in the stock market. Just did it to pay less income tax. My condo's are in Montreal, but I have a 440 unit project going up in Ontario within 18 months. Might head over there for a few months and help my brother sell them. I should be good. Anything goes wrong, my condo (where i live) is payed for, so I will manage well. It's a car afterall, it can be sold if needed.
I have a property for sale that I will make about 80% of this car's value in that transaction alone, which will then go toward buying a piece of land I have my eye on, then build 8 townhomes on that etc etc, keep it rolling. Make money fast, don't wait. And as my step dad told me once "don't work to save more money, just make more money however you can"
why do people say brand new cars are their dream cars?
dream cars to me are cars ive wanted half my life. Not something that came out six months ago.
I don't know.. I'm just sayin.
Congrats on the car, that's a fantastic purchase. Though with how big you say you are, how do you find the seat bolsters? Every C63 I've ever sat in has what I consider to be pretty tight bolsters--great for back road fun, but I question how comfortable they would be on a regular basis. I'm 6'0 and 200 lbs, so I'm not huge, but I'm also not small. Either way though, a big nasty NA V8 should be experienced at least once in every gear head's life---and you certainly chose an excellent example.
Any car costing over 25k brings out the idiots that have to know how much you make for a living before they can bless your "overspending" on a nice car. All the while, they drive VWs from the 80s that they have sunk 35k into over the last 2 years - fixing it up so its in nice condition...
gotta love TCL.
I do know a couple young men that got out of college and at the age of 25 or 26 bought cars that made them stretch on a monthly basis to find the payments... that is sad to see. But I would never tell someone they paid too much for a car.. or that the car wasn't worth it. That **** is just rude.. and I leave that to the petty haters.
I am with other people that have said "what no manual?" :-)
Nice car OP. One of the nicest Benzos on the road is now yours. Those that die having enjoyed life are the winners. Congrats to the OP.
