Thread: FS: 1984 Rabbit GTi (Tampa, FL) $2000

  1. 03-17-2012 03:37 PM #1

Hello I am selling my 84 GTi. When I bought the car it had lots of performance upgrades including:

    -Rebuilt 1.8 motor
    -All new bushings underneath
    -Lowering Springs and Shocks
-Scirocco Brakes front and rear cross drilled
    -Stainless Steel brake lines
    -Neuspeed Sway Bars
-Techtonics front and rear stress bars

Since owning the car I have changed:

    -All motor mounts
    -All wheel bearing
    -Alternator
    -Oil pan and gasket
    -Oil pressure switch
    -Tires
    -Thermostat
    -Fan Switch

The car runs strong, needs a little bit of gas on a cold start but after 20 secs she is good to go. Handles and drives great, shifter has quite a bit of play but shifts perfectly once you are use to it. Sun roof works but the plastic crank has broken and I can not find a replacement. I don't know what else to say - I love this car and do not want to see it go I am asking $1500 for it and will not go any lower.

Here is a link for 32 photos of it on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/atflick...8191/lightbox/

Please email me at Ryan@RockOcean.com for any other questions or info.

Recently drove up to Chattanooga, TN from Tampa, FL in the GTi and got 30 mpg on the highway.

bump for a nice clean car!

why does it need gas on cold starts?
    fuel filter original?
    fuel pump condition?

  5. 03-22-2012 03:06 AM #5
I dont know - fuel filter has been changed recently and I changed the injector on the #1 cyl. that seemed to be leaking fuel when off the throttle. Car runs perfect after 30 seconds just drove up to Tennessee and she ran like a dream even getting 30mpg on one fill up.

In case you didn't notice I have removed the tint since I got back from Tennessee.

Pretty sure he wants the full 3k, and Im sure he will get close to it. Here in FL I have people throwing me crazy numbers for my mk1 all the time, Don't see them around here much. Plus ours have less rust usually.

Seen it in person a few times, pics don't do it justice. Worth every bit of the 3k asking price!
