Thread: Can you install a Double DIN Dash Navigation in a 2001 eurovan?

Just got my dads old 2001 VW eurovan, pretty stoked!!!! but I wanted to install a navigation system... but I can't find anything. nor can i find a dash kit.... can anyone help me out?

I don't think there's any kit other than sourcing out European parts. Some late Eurovans overseas did have nav units that we didn't get.

You could *carefully* hack your existing trim bezel that's around the climate unit and cut off the storage slot but IDK how it'd end up looking. Might be better to source out the European bezel from a double-din vsn (see below).

But your real problem is inside/behind the dash. There's a brace going across the car and it is in the way of most double-din anything (the depth is severely limited). You'll need to swap to this:

    Pricey though.

But some inspiration for you...a top of the line Caravelle "Business" edition:

Wow I wish I saw that before I installed mine . I installed a double din in the radio and vent location. So I had to remove the two vents above single din radio and modify the duct and install the double radio been about two years and works Great can post a picture if you want.

We don't seem to miss the other two vents . I also like the fact that it's close to the top of the dash, so it's easier to view the gps. Any questions w/stereo let me know, good luck .

Looks pretty clean. I'm sure I will miss the 2 vents in the summer time. I have the MV Weekender and it does not have a secondary AC.
