MY B5 WAGON Re-Do!

I purchased a B5 wagon some months ago and am finally ready to re-do the whole car. The car is a 2000 windsor blue automatic 1.8t wagon with tan cloth interior. The car was purchase not running the previous put a huge hole in the bottom end, shooting the rod right through it. The hole is big enough to put Andre the Giant's hand through it. There is actually two hole one either side of the motor.

bigger turbo ( aspiring to get 350-400 ponies)
5speed conversion
04 beige interior (complete- carpet, seats, panels, headliner, dash and all trims)
W8 roof rails
5.5 nose
hatch spoiler
votex kit

5.5 exterior chrome trims

This is the pics of the damaged motor. Seeing it in person is even crazier. In all my years never seen anything like this. The last pic is the rod that shot out and lodge itself in the engine bay.

Brief Bio
I have owned over forty VW since I was 19 years old. My passion is customizing VW and building one of a kind VWs. While this is my first build thread I am certainly not new to vortex or the vw culture. I go as far back as the first Waterfest in Monsey, NY, and journey to other show around the east coast. I have a passion for these dubs, in any given year I could own 5-8 vws at a time.

I have also been on vortex for over ten years, many people have bought parts from me. I have sold parts to people all across the world from Malaysia to Russia, Natherlands, New Zealand, Mexico, Holland, Denmark and across the fifty states. If fact I own one of the most legendary custom vws. While I have followed many of your builds, mods and creative expression I am deciding to put my own up. A mild work compared to what I can do but replacing a daily with something as comfort as what I will be giving up.

yeah I am doing it right in my driveway. The nose is already off.

Gutted out the interior today, everything was practically remove or thrown away. Cloth seat went to the trash. Miscelleanous parts are up for sale. Dash board and all were removed for an 04 interior upgrade.

Well Sam is a master at dreaming,but he also is a master at making it happen.with the help of me and my company "euro-xxtream Inc." we will make it happen just like the jetta convertible pictured above.

-Can't believe it has been just about a month since I started this build. Here is update thus far I have been hard at work. Two weeks ago I drove to virginia to pick up a complete votex kit for a 5.5 wagon. The front and side skirts were from a cool dude on Passatworld for $450. While in Virginia I also picked up the rear bumper from a dealership in Alexandria. Apparently there were only three rear votex bumpers in any vw dealership in the country, now there is two. Who knew I can get this hard to find complete kit for under $800.

-Three weeks a go I picked up the complete 5.5 nose conversion, hood, fenders, front bumper and all. I also picked up a immaculately clean beige interior from a 04 5.5 wagon including door panels. Four weeks ago I picked up the manual tranny, shifter box assembly.

-Today I installed brand new control arms (upper and lower) out tie-rod and sway bar links. While the car is still apart thing are coming along very well. Pics will be added soon.

the V6 is a good swap i have a 2000 V6 wagon and it GOs so dnt cross it out, and an auto to manual conversion is a major PITA (pain in the ass) to do, i looked it up and since we have alot more electrical components then most other vehicles of these years u gotta find an experienced mechanic or good trans shop. i was gonna do it myself but i hate electrical work, but it pays $$$

thanx for the tip. I actually own a 5 speed V6 manual passat sedan and love it but needed a wagon because I am always moving and picking up parts. The wagon make it more convenient. V6 passat are more trouble free but the 1.8t bring a new kind of excitement. I am actually more excited about having the wagon. As far as the auto to manual swap is concern, I have completely gutted out the wagon. I am attempting to separate the automatic harness from the rest of the harness on the inside, recode the ecu for a 5speed. That is plan "A", plan be would be to run a 5 speed harness if I run into any problem. I don't want any automatic harness component is the car when I am done.

Most people who know me and my work, know that there hasn't been a car I have owned and driven for a year that hasn't been completely gutted out and re-done. That is the fun of owning VWs.

I have been busy lately. With all this rain, I have been force to take my brain inside and discover new things. I discover a way to upgrade the boring B5 cluster with a touch of B5.5. I transplanted the chrome trim from the B5.5 cluster to the B5 cluster to add a little excitement. I must say it makes a difference. I took the face of my b5 cluster(just the lense cover). I then removed the lense cover from a B5.5 which has the chrome trim around the circular portals. I put the B5.5 lense cover on the b5 cluster and got a different look. I like it!
