I have been debating an RMR install on my M&P 9 for a year now. The price is high and initial transition will permanently change the weapon. Although I know Bowie Tactical offers a blank plate to go over the area if the RMR is not used. Suppressor sights are a must. I would still like some manual sights even though I am using a dot.

The M&P is a fantastic handgun. The ergos are close to a 1911, recoil is light and with an APEX package, it rivals the best single action guns. Its accurate and reliable. If I had to give up but one of my handguns in my collection, my M&P would stay. I have had it for over 3 years now. I have shot thousands of rounds out of it. I take it with me ever range weekend and run at least 50 to 100 rounds each time through it. Has not failed me yet.

Now that (the scales on top of slide) is something I'd like for my 45FS. Mine has been a tank; took it to Southern CA when I got to help instruct at a Sea Cadet firearm safety/marksmanship event and I forgot my cleaning kit- 400 rounds of Federal (dirty ammo, dirtier than Blazer and WWB) and dust from the winds (.22 shoots were hilarious to watch) and not a single hiccup. I've got around 17-1800 rounds through it and never one FTE or FTFeed or FTFire; flawless.

ETA: Link to a company site for them?? Google's turning up squat.

Swiss Arms (Sig) 553. If I were given my choice of any firearm ever made, here it is (select fire, of course).

CZ Skorpion Evo III, can't say I know much about it other than it looks cool and I like CZ's handguns:

I'm a big fan of the G3 and would love one of PTR91's offerings...preferably one of the basic GI types.

I really wanna get a hold of one of the new Robinson Arms XCR. It grabs my interest more than any of the new age assault style rifles.

I've been looking at those too. The GI is rumored to be less picky about ammo than the higher end PTR's.

Not sure if you've seen the movie The Kingdom, but there's a brief scene where Jamie Foxx's character unloads a G3 on a Mercedes full of fleeing bad guys. Simply awesome.

      RE: XCR

This is a shame...because while lots of people "like" the XCR, they've been a commercial disaster, mainly due to complete lack of reliability. Almost every site I'm on there is someone who owns 2-3 of them...and have been through 3-4 of them to get one that works.

The company just isn't up to snuff, which is sad because it could be such a success. They are complete pot-luck when you order one. Robinson Arms also has a really piss reputation simply due to the fact that they released another rifle before ---- then dumped it, and don't support it anymore with parts, spares or service.

That alienated all of the owners of course. Cool idea, piss poor end product.

Are you talking about the older models or the 2012 models? I have heard the older ones had some problems but haven't heard any real world data on the new ones yet. I hope these new ones pan out but RobArms will have to step it up with service, parts, etc.

I don't believe the 2012 models are that significantly different. Either way, the company has a bad enough rep that I personally wouldn't bother.

      Re: PKM

Easily one of the finest medium machine guns ever produced...though I suppose it still qualifies as a light machine gun. Fantastic freakin' gun. Brilliant design.

My favorite PKM...one owned and run by a guy over on LF'er. Full-auto, custom short barrel, Aimpoint mount etc.

      Love this freakin' thing.

I can understand the premium for a no-name-company serial #1 rifle...but the production model at $50K? Titanium ain't THAT expensive.

PS: I wonder if these guys actually sell ANY rifles. Who the frack would pay them $3K+ for no-name rifles? That's money to buy any of the top tier AR's on the market.

In my opinion the cutoff point for a semi auto anything is about $2,999. Anything that costs over $3k better be select fire or a destructive device.
