Someone needs a longer attention span. Not all music has to be "in your face" and easy to figure out. I guess that is why everyone doesn't like fine wine either, including me.

      And you need subwoofers

Did you listen to the link I posted? Hardly "in your face", and certainly not easy to figure out. And what is it about a 15 second clip that's looped over and over and over that requires a longer attention span?

In the broadest definition, yes. And by that definition, that would make a 3 y/o banging on a pot w/ a wooden spoon 'making music'. Just because something qualifies as 'creative expression' doesn't preclude it from being pure and utter crap.

i am a true lover of electronic music, even enjoy dubstep on occasion, and have been to many live shows (deadmau5, labor of love, david guetta, etc).

however, i cannot stand the sound of skrillex...

I really don't have any problem with Skrillex. I'm not a fan, but I don't have all the ignorant hatred that a lot of people seem to have. I'm big on electronic music, but I'm just not a dubstep fan. It's mostly his fanbase that I have a problem with. For Example:

i agree. begging for a drop shows a bit of a lack of appreciation of other types of music, even electronic music. for example, deadmau5 - strobe is a phenomenal electronic song, complex rhythm, great bass lines, and a wonderful intro...however, it has no bass drop.

I think that's what the Skrillex hatred really boils down too. A bunch of ignorant douchey pop music listeners who flooded the scene and have no respect for and/or trash anything that came before it. He even knows this, and is becoming much more vocal about the ignorance of his fanbase... Like here: https://twitter.com/#!/Skrillex/stat...91606209978368

I gained some respect for Skrillex after watching the Re:Generation documentary where he and the remaining members of The Doors made a song together... and if The Doors are cool with Skrillex, I'm cool with Skrillex.

I generally don't like much electronic music but deadmau5 is actually one of the few artists I would listen to based on the fact that he seems to understand song composition, structuring and chords.

After listening to most of these it sounds like what I have running as background most days at work from Soma-FM (Beat Blender & Groove Salad).

      Who knew?

This is about as close as my taste comes to dubstep. Progressive House some people call it.

Music is supposed to bring people together. The beauty of art and music is that if you don't like it, you can be removed from it. And yet it can still mean the world to some people.
