Didn't see them listed, but do you still have the team loco wheels for it?

Obviously this car is a beauty. I've enjoyed watching it evolve over the years

    this is an upsetting thread

but sometimes growing up sucks, like selling my mk5 wagon, to buy a house

good luck randy, hope this goes well, maybe we can get together before you sell it and we can do a black and white set of our black and white mk2 gtis
    maybe ill bring grumpy nik.

To all the haters: I'm going to explain this ONE MORE TIME for your thick skulls. I'll make it VERY clear (even though i've said this at least 3 times now).

THIS CAR IS WORTH MORE TO ME THAN IT IS TO MOST OF YOU.

My point being... I know my price is high, too high for most people, and I KNOW the car is far from perfect, I don't care. The point is, I'm not in a hurry to sell this car, in fact, I'd be perfectly happy to keep it forever, but I don't use it very much, so it would be OK if it sold. That being said, Because of my sentimental attachment to the car, I can't possibly let it go for much less than I'm asking. If nobody offers me close to that, then so be it, I will keep the car and continue to enjoy it, even if only once or twice a season.

What this thread is accomplishing, is telling people that I AM willing to part with the car. Something that most people (who know me) thought to probably NEVER be true.

THIS. Some of you need to just move along if you don't want the car. The OP has explicitly stated multiple times that it is worth more to him than market value and he is just testing the waters. Given the history of this car and the impact this specific car has had in the MK2 community over the years, the pricing isn't really that far-fetched at all.

Bottom line, this is a classified thread. Unless you are interested in buying the car, move along. Posting your opinions and drivel about the pricing do nothing and are not pertinent to this thread. Carry on

Have nothing but love for this car.

Hold your ground, because the person willing to pay your asking price, is the person that will give this car the proper home.

    THIS!

Always loved the car, don't want to see it go to other hands, but hope that if it does, it'll be someone who will take care of it and keep it alive for us all to enjoy for years to come.

We are all on Vortex because we have a common interest and a love for VWs. If you don't have something nice to say don't say anything. Who has time to keep posting negative comments? This car is what It is and if someone wants it in their garage It will be sold. If not the owner is happy to keep it.

Let's see what happens to this piece of history

  13. 03-30-2012 06:23 PM #48
I can't believe all the negative comments in here. I browse Vortex every now and then and I felt like I had to sign in and post about how disappointed I am with all of these haters. This is the car that everyone has copied or wanted to copy. This is the car that summed up everything I loved about MK2s and these kids commenting are the reason I lost interest in Volkswagens all together.

Good luck with the keeping it forever. ,, Fook wat everybody says. i wouldnt have ever sold mine for less than 10k, the history, blood sweat tears and sacrificed wallet size that went into her ....... yours inspired me many many many times.

i lost mine. I hope you never sell it and keep it for life. that was my plan. now it just sits at the shop as a lifetime yard ornament.

Car is super sick!!! I remember seeing it in PVW, probably still have the issue in my box. I feel you though. I did my conversion in 93 and am trying to sell my car to. not about to give it away though. Really a sweet looking car though, good luck!

Nice car. Worth it. As a fellow guy who put lots more money into a VW than what some people think its worth, its all relative. Cool if you get the money you want. Cool if you keep it and drive it on nice days!! Win win! Ignore the "experts" who haven't even looked at your car in person.

I agree with this guy. What's the point? Is this all you have to do with your time? About the only positive thing you're doing with all of the negative comments is bumping the guy's thread. Who cares how much he wants? That's his price and if you don't like it, move on.

I ended up in this thread because I'm trying to find out where I can get a Z-Engineering S/C rebuilt and got distracted because I like the car. I wouldn't bad mouth him or his asking price even if it was 50 grand.

  29. 04-19-2012 05:16 PM #64
WOW holy **** dude I've had this car as my screensaver on my computer and like 3 different phones. And up until I got serious with my girl friend I took it down. (she was just jealous) lol. But anyway beautiful car. I'd say keep it for your future kids or grand kids. Best of luck with the sale.

Are you the lead singer of Band of Horses?

Anyways, best of luck on the sale. Seeing the "Spitzer" badge on your car reminded me of living in Ohio and gave me a nice chuckle. They used to be a pretty decent sized franchise back in the day. Not sure how many dealers they have now.
