I'll guess I'm gonna have to vote against this circlejerk. Fug wheels, hate the wing, hate the color. Kudos on the mechanicals though.

The old "king of the hill"

I watched the BBC show Lemans the Killer Years or whatever it is called like 5 times.

I am a huge fan of racing while there were no armcos, safety tanks, seatbelts, etc. etc. Jackie Stewart said there was a 2 of 3 chance of dying back then.

Circuit drivers today are more like pro atheletes than back then. They were 1/2 daredevil 1/2 fighter pilot in those days with death being present at all times.

That is why I rightfully respect rally drivers as the most skilled modern drivers. Forget circuit racing.

Holy chit. That thing is outrageous. I'd kill myself in it in the first five minutes.

The power to weight ratio on that thing would match or exceed some LMP1 prototypes. So awesome

I don't think he street "races", per se. I've driven with him in the past and despite his online persona, he's a very controlled, relatively conservative canyon driver. He doesn't push it. And he never crosses the double yellow.

Oh and yes, the car is insane.

      TCL:

If you don't keep it below 5/10 or only drive fast at track=you are a streetracer and are going to kill babies soon and should go to jail.

Lol nobody "streetraces" except retards from light to light. It's about who is the fastest on the hill and who can keep up and who gets left behind.

      To some people this=streetracing.

You expect a 2100lb car that is actually tracked with nearly 700hp not to have a functional wing? The one thing I noticed about this car is that it could probably do with a lot more downforce, not less.

there are also some videos on youtube of it driving through the canyons
Here are some pre-widebody for the collection:

Additionally, if we're talking obscene Lotus, you can't avoid mentioning the Blackwatch Racing Auto-x car, three time SCCA X-prep solo champ. It probably makes half as much power as Frank's car but it also has some mad impressive bespoke fab work:

I am with you, I liked it better before he did the widebody and paint, the mechanicals and interior are very cool though

Except it isn't tracked and you can't use that much power in the canyons, he built it so he can brag online about how fast it is and he is a major dick about it too, he has been banned from nearly every forum.
And the car spends as much time in the repair shop as it does on the road

I think Frank's rear clamshell treatment preceded the 458.

I remember thinking about how similar the two were once the 458 was released.

I really like the interior appointments and the shifter layout but the exterior just isn't my thing... I cringe a lot of the time when I see an Exige or Elise done up like this with masses of power as the original balance of the car was geared towards handling. I can't help but think that having that much power in a car that weighs a bit over 2K lbs on such a short wheelbase makes it a white knuckle ride through the corners.
