That is a weird combination of many things.

I believe it was a special order car. The vehicle history report shows that it's a one owner. I'm going to take the VIN into the BMW dealer tomorrow to try and find out some more details on it. But here it is….
It's a 2001 xi touring wagon,
It's got red leather sport package,
It doesn't have the premium package,
It doesn't have a moonroof,
It has a 5-Speed transmission.
I've seen some wagons without moonroofs, but very rarely. I've seen some wagons that are 5 speeds but very rarely. But I've never seen a wagon with red leather sport seats.
Here's some quick pics I just took in a parking lot.

Where's Vad? This is pretty much what he's looking for, minus the AWD. And it's relatively close to him.

Approveespecially the red!

Really nothing special. It's just a custom ordered car. Someone ordered a wagon, sports package, red leather seats, and 5 speed tranny. I worked for a BMW dealership from 2001-2007. Had many customers order that same way - red leather.

yeah, but that's kinda what I'm getting at. It was special ordered. I know it's nothing special as in, not a limited edition model or whatever. But I've never seen one equipped quite like this and I would venture to say that BMW never made red sport package wagons in 5 speeds as a normal production car. So in my estimation, the only ones to exist are going to be ones that were special ordered for someone. If that is true, then the amount of special ordered, 5 speed wagons, with red leather, would be far fewer VS. the amount of other colored interior regular production wagons….. If that makes any sense.

A hundred dollars on your hair, fifty on your nails, fifty on make-up, two hundred dollars for an outfit. You ladies spend four hundred dollars to bring home a thug that ain't worth ten cents!

love that combination, especially the red leather five speed and no moon roof...

Lately I have been testing "tip-in events". Just the tip-in. Just to see how it feels. Response time is typically on the order of 2-3 seconds. Sometimes the injection timing is a little off...

If Vad doesn't buy this we should never help him again.

It's an xi! I don't want an xi! Then again, it's red leather. Bizarre, even the climate control isn't the auto/digital stuff that I thought had become standard back in '96. I still have to call gambit420s about his wagon. What does Mr. Post-It-Note-Assassin want for this?
#19
I see what you are getting at. It is a cool and unique car, I just wish BMW's red leather was a little more vibrant.
My wagon was also a special order and I am the 3rd owner. It has every option but rear side airbags and leather. E46 Tourings seem to be getting popular around here lately.

2001 BMW 325 XIT,
160k miles, one owner, 5 speed (clutch is good), sport package (red), analogue climate control, cruise control (works), in dash CD player (works), power windows (all work, all regulators good) rubber floor mats and hatch mat, pull out rear cover is present, dog net is present, 17" stock XI alloy wheels with wintery type tires that have good tread, AC/Heat works, cold weather package (heated seats work) fog lights, no accident history, owners manual present, clear bra, no lux package (manual adjustment seats) no moon roof, no HID's, all stock (stock suspension, exhaust, intake, stereo, etc.) brand new fuel pump.
bad things…. I only have one key, it has a crack in the lower part of the windshield with worn out rubber surroundings, there are some rock chips and door dings, back window likes to unlatch at random times while driving (always stays latched when locked though)
I picked it up in Denver, drove it on my honeymoon to Durango, then around Durango for a week, and then home to Phoenix. So whatever it may need, it's not too serious because it treated me great for a week and about 1k miles on the honeymoon. I'm going to take it into my mechanic this week and have him give it a good once over and see if it needs anything.

Winter tires in AZ?
For some reason that red interior looks odd with that exterior colour. Would look better with white, silver, or black IMO.
#22
I agree on both accounts. I bought it out of Denver though. The previous owner lived in a little town just west of Denver. So the winter tires make more sense in that case.
I wish it were black white or silver personally. I think the color combo would be better. It doesn't look too bad in person though.

How did the leather endure time? It doesn't look bad in the pics. Always wondered if those vivid color leather would fade or not.

Well…. I didn't intend for this to be a "For Sale" thread and I'm not looking to get my thread locked, but since others brought up the idea of selling maybe it's okay. However, I haven't decided on a number yet because I want my mechanic to look it over so I know what I do or don't need to fix before I throw out a number. But if anyone is interested in shooting me an offer, that couldn't hurt.![]()

The leather looks A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!!!!! The entire interior is amazingly good for how old it is and how many miles it has. nothing is broken or missing, well, I can't say that. The rear armrest cup holder doesn't stay snapped shut. But other than that….. There's no holes or tears in the leather. It has held up quite well.

the manual climate control is odd. I had a 2002 325iT(wagon) and it had auto climate as standard, guess pre 2002 did not. I sold it a few years ago but it just recently exchanged hands again, sounds like Vad perfect wagon, non sunroof, rwd, 5MT and only options was xenon and sport package.

#30
I love it. Even has the manual temp control. Never seen a e46 like that.
#31
I like that interior. My DD is a 200k mile 323it 5-speed. Not a bad way to get around at all.
#32
Not a big fan of wagons but this doesn't look too shabby for someone who likes driving and a dose of utility. How many miles and how much did it sell for if you don't mind me asking?
#33
When I was looking for my wagon, I found a Alpine White 5spd Red Leather 323iT Sport Package, but it had been hit in the rear and the bumper, hatch and RR taillight were misaligned. There was water residue in the RR corner and on the battery so I passed.
I found you this one vad

So I took it into the BMW dealer and got all my info…. Here's the scoop on this car.
Steel Gray Metallic exterior
Tannin Red Leather interior
Vehicle Production date - 10/2000
Inservice date - 11/20/2000
Options:
0ZAP - Sport Activity Package
0249 - Multi-Function steering wheel
0473 - Center armrest
0662 - In-Dash CD player
0203 - All-Wheel Drive
0335 − 100% Options
0494 - Heated front seats
Original MSRP: $36,170
I'm not sure what that 0335 100% options package means because this car doesn't have 100% of the options.
Anyone have any idea?
