the manual climate control is odd. I had a 2002 325iT(wagon) and it had auto climate as standard, guess pre 2002 did not. I sold it a few years ago but it just recently exchanged hands again, sounds like Vad perfect wagon, non sunroof, rwd, 5MT and only options was xenon and sport package.

Auto climate control was part of premium package on E46 built before March 2001. It became standard on all E46 after March 2001. So this wagon was an early build date example, which also means it has the more power steering boost than the later cars.

I love it. Even has the manual temp control. Never seen a e46 like that.

I like that interior. My DD is a 200k mile 323it 5-speed. Not a bad way to get around at all.

Not a big fan of wagons but this doesn't look too shabby for someone who likes driving and a dose of utility. How many miles and how much did it sell for if you don't mind me asking?

When I was looking for my wagon, I found a Alpine White 5spd Red Leather 323iT Sport Package, but it had been hit in the rear and the bumper, hatch and RR taillight were misaligned. There was water residue in the RR corner and on the battery so I passed.

I found you this one vad

So I took it into the BMW dealer and got all my info…. Here's the scoop on this car.

      Steel Gray Metallic exterior
      Tannin Red Leather interior
      Vehicle Production date - 10/2000
      Inservice date - 11/20/2000

      Options:

      0ZAP - Sport Activity Package
      0249 - Multi-Function steering wheel
      0473 - Center armrest
      0662 - In-Dash CD player
      0203 - All-Wheel Drive
      0335 − 100% Options
      0494 - Heated front seats

      Original MSRP: $36,170

I'm not sure what that 0335 100% options package means because this car doesn't have 100% of the options.

      Anyone have any idea?

      He got it from Denver.

Interesting combo, I dig it. Enjoy it or sell it to an enthusiast, good stuff.

bad things…. I only have one key, it has a crack in the lower part of the windshield with worn out rubber surroundings, there are some rock chips and door dings, back window likes to unlatch at random times while driving (always stays latched when locked though)

I picked it up in Denver, drove it on my honeymoon to Durango, then around Durango for a week, and then home to Phoenix. So whatever it may need, it's not too serious because it treated me great for a week and about 1k miles on the honeymoon. I'm going to take it into my mechanic this week and have him give it a good once over and see if it needs anything.
I'm sorry if this was covered, but the rear area has been steam cleaned since?

if from the factory and not a "mod" it has the "delete model designation" (no 325xi, yadayadayada, on the rear)

*i ordered our E90 that way

Does it have an autostart? some autostarts bury the keys. coming from Denver (Ft Carson), it could have been owned by a Soldier once stationed in Germany.

I'm not sure what that 0335 100% options package means because this car doesn't have 100% of the options.

      Anyone have any idea?
In service date within 1 month after production most likely means this car was an European delivery car. The original owner picked it up from Munich Shipping time to US West coast is typically 12-14 weeks for normal US delivery so this car would not have made it to Colorado until early January 2001.

October production means the car has the extra boosted power steering that most BMW owners dislike (changed after March 2001 production date).

Multifunction steering wheel, center armrest, and CD player would have all been part of the premium package so I'm not sure why the original owner would go out of his/her way to skip premium (you can get sunroof delete if that's not your thing). He ended up spending more money to get these 3 options than if he had done premium package with sunroof delete, not to mention he took a bath on resale value as a result

The premium package would have added automatic climate control, power seat, seat/mirror memory setting, and auto dimming mirror with compass; and cost less.

"0335" probably refers to the fact that this car is customer sold order car. It has to do with how BMW dealers can put in orders for the car. At the beginning of each model year, BMW USA put in generic (e.g. premium package, *normal* color leather seats, automatic etc) specs for all early production allocations to ensure fast production and easy to sell cars. Dealers can go in and modify the car once they receive their allocations. Once it is modified, it shows up as "optioned" in their system.

My wife's 128i convertible was custom ordered the same way -- red leather, 6-speed, sport package, and that was it (oh, and we got the navi).

I also ordered my 135i with red leather, although I think the current coral red is a bit more tasteful than the 2001 red leather.

Either way, that wagon is pretty sweet!

Do you mean steam cleaned the carpet? Or do you mean steam cleaned the underside of the car? Either way though….. The answer would be no, but why do you ask?

I didn't know that you could do that. It would make sense in this case because this car is 100% stock, other than window tint, and genuine BMW rubber floor mats. But in both of those cases, those aren't really "mods" but when I saw that there were no badges, I just assumed the PO took them off. But possibly they were never there.

Interesting… How do I tell if it has autostart? There were no military stickers on the car, but when I bought it I could tell that there was some sort of sticker that was removed from the rear window. The only sticker that was still attached was a "Vail Medical Institute" (I believe that's what it was called) sticker that was attached on the bottom drivers side corner of the windshield. I assumed that the PO was in some sort of medical field.

For some reason that red interior looks odd with that exterior colour. Would look better with white, silver, or black IMO.
Yeah, I like everything about it including the red seats but that exterior color doesn't match the seats well imo.

If that car were white or black, or silver, it would be sweet with the red seats.

ha ha… that's silly… But no. Our snowboarding gear, and luggage took up too much space for us to have post wedding sexy time back there. So no worries on that.
