If the DV goes off that means the TB is shutting. I'd try adapting the TB first especially since its only at a certain throttle area. Check your connections at the peddle as well and are you throwing any codes? If so what codes?

OK so my GLI is acting up. When ever i take off from like a stop or even rolling my car will take off nice and smooth then it will suddenly jerk and it like loses power for a split second and then it comes right back. Now im not even pushing the pedal hard. I'm creeping to the speed limit sometimes. Its on and off. its not constantly doing it but its really pissing me off. It almost sounds like i hear the DV dump when it jerks. Its an automatic and i just recently had the transmission swapped due to a faulty valve in it. So im sure its not the transmission acting up.
Some of the mods that im currently running are:
-Nuespeed CB
-42DD DP
-GIAC STG 1
-Forge TIP
-Forge 007 DV
-AEM CAI
-NGK plugs
Im a little bit concerned because it just recently started doing this. When i installed the FORGE TIP. it totally moved the DV and the PCV Valve like 2 inchs so i had to buy a piece of hosing that was long enough to reach the top of the DV. Randomly i thought for some reason that that vacuum line had a crappy connection or something and was dumping the turbo to soon or something, so i re did it all with brass fitting and still its jerking. I have a boost gauge installed and im not even getting in to boost its still vacuum when this happens.
Anyone know what the hell could be causing this issue?
Thanks

I've been throwing a code one was for the dp but I put the spacer on and that went away but now I'm getting a cooling performance code. I was losing coolant pretty bad and my guy that I take it to said it was because my cap on the coolant catch was not sealing. But I changed it and am still getting this code.

Just got my car back from the tech I take it to because my water pump went out. I asked why I had a cel and he said because of the maf sensor. It kinda sounded like this could be the reason why it was doing that lunge when I take off. So I did the test by unplugging the sensor and driving it and it drove so ****ty it wouldn't go in to boost it shifted harder then hell and would random ally lose power and then come back while accelerating. I also noticed the slip controll light would just stay on

Was it Maf or map code? Try cleaning the Maf with Maf cleaner. Also check your abs module for code. If your trac control light is on could be a sensor going out. I had the same issue and the car thought I was spinning the tires and cut the power back.

Maf is what the tech said. But I honestly think that he is full of ****. Where can I get some Maf cleaner from? Any auto parts store?

Totally fixed this issue and never posted how! my bad
So i was sick of the power loss when i would take off so i took the throttle body apart and cleaned the **** out of it. popped it back in and wha la. She runs smooth as glass now. Only one issue im having and its two codes that seem to keep coming up. One of them is a Cooling system performance code. I dont understand why im having this becsaue i just had my car serviced and i had the water pump and timing belt changed as well. Another code that might of just started re accuring is engine misfire code... what does that mean? i didnt run a actual vag com check i did the BS little hand held thing that checks. I sea fomed the car like 3 days before i had the code checked. The guy said that sometimes the seafoam will cause engine missfires. Only thing thats weird is wouldnt i feel an engine misfire? i dont understand but... if its not the seafoam thwoing the code... what do you think could be cause the engine misfires?

My GTI has been doing the same thing when I drive. It's so embarrassing cause I don't have a muffler so it's kinda loud and deep but when the lag hits it gets so much louder and sounds like a damn fart canI'm gonna try cleaning my TB tomorrow after work

the code for the cooling performance as well as the codes for the misfires have been known to be caused by a bad coolant temp sensor.
i'm not saying this will for sure fix ur problems but if u use the search fxn, there are plenty of threads about the codes u have being related.

It is possible that if you seafoamed the intake, you may have fouled the spark plugs also. I would pull them and check to see what they look like. Just a thought![]()

Yea but I took mine apart, took the butterfly out, and ported and polished it. Now I need to get a TB alignment cause it's running rough as phuck.Took it to my local vag shop and he wants $65 to align it. I'm just going to buy the vagcom cable and do it myself.
Other than my idle sounding like I'm cammed out, I can tell the difference in throttle response![]()

Yea I just downloaded VAG-COM last night. I just have to wait until next friday before I can order the cable.
Doing the TBA with VAG-COM is simple. It's explained here on vortex and on youtube. Look it up and you'll see how easy it is![]()
