Anybody with a 2012 TDI has used a performance chip? I just bought my 1st Touareg TDI and would like to know more about upgrades and tricks, thanks.

I don't think there is any available yet, But you can add a water meth kit (snow performance) and that thing will wake up. I had 1 installed on our TDI jetta and the power gains and MPG gains were impressive.

Why would you chip a V6 TDI? It comes from the factory with 400+ ft-lbs. of torque. It does 0-60 (meaningless stat) in around 7 seconds and will tow 7700 pounds. It already has an eight-speed tranny, a turbocharger, and (being diesel) a sky-high compression ratio. Since it weighs just over 5000 pounds, the few extra horsepower you might get from ordinary engine mods wouldn't make much difference. Spend your money on something like rims if you really must do something to make your vehicle distinctive.

Porsche just announced their 2013 Cayenne will have a 240HP V6 TDI.

Some like show, some like go.

There are some euro tuners out there, but as far as I know, no easy chipping solution. Custom spooling will tune your ECU, but you have to send it to them. IIRC, it's about 40HP and 90nm of torque. Either way, it's a healthy boost and it does make a difference.

and Audi aleady haves 3L V6 twinturbo with tad over 300hp and 480lb-ft torque (available in EU)

MTM and CustomSpooling already haves tunes for 2011-2012 Touaregs.

I was going to get CustomSpooling stand alone box (no ecu shipping) on one of these days...
