    $279 seems reasonable for APR

Looks like it attaches without having to ditch the whole engine cover. Only downside is that the filter is still in the cover, but at least it comes with the K&N style filter you can clean.

No. The 'new' one is made by ITG and branded with Volkswagen Racing. It's been available overseas for a while.. No official price from APR but the rumor is they are pretty expensive.

I am considering Evoms it's about the same price as the carbino and Teff likes it. His build is insane on every level.

I'm trying to wait for the co-branded APR VWR intake but I am also digging the EVOMs, I know a lot of guys who have loved them, the fit and finish and the sound. Plus you are right its TEFF Approved!!!

I am very happy with my evoms.

Will the old BSH Intake from the MKV FSI work without issues?

The current carbonio for the R is not a full intake. It is pretty much just for looks, as far as I can tell.

The intake they (APR) are rumored to be releasing (although they are taking their sweet time with it) looks more like this:

It will require that you remove or modify (aka cut) your engine cover, as will the EVOMS:

I had that one (OP) on my GTI. Wouldn't do it again. Not because it's a bad intake but I want to be able to remove the engine cover.

I don't think that's the same as the one for the GTI...

If the EVO intake was fully sealed I'd be a player. I'll wait for the VWR intake and see how it stacks up in price and performance to the twintake or wintake.

Oh... my bad. Mine for the MK6 was this:

With stage 2 I was still able to use my stock engine cover, which I liked, b/c I felt like it kept everything looking clean.

We will have 4 intake variations.

    2. VWR Intake filter which replaces the OEM filter and retains the factory intake. Available soon and sold exclusively through the APR dealer network world wide.

    1. APR Carbonio Intake for use with the factory engine cover. Available now.

    2. APR Carbonio Intake for use w/o the factory engine cover. In development, looks like the TSI Full Intake.

    3. VWR Intake for use w/o the factory engine cover sold exclusively though the APR Dealer network. To be released soon.

Arin do we have any ideas of what the pricing will be for those 4 intake options? Im currently waiting for the exhasut and dp to be done and will be looking for the HPFP, the intake, exhaust for the R. I know the exhaust is currently being worked on and will be done soon. Thanks

Will the Carbonio with intake cover provide the airflow to bring us to the advertised 335 hp?

I do not believe it will as the quoted intake figures were preformed with a prototype full engine cover removed intake system.

Do you expect the full VWR or Carbonio w/o cover to hit your stage 1+ w/ intake numbers?

Carbonio worked on the project a while back but we did not sign off on the design. Just this past month they've decided to pick back up on the project so we sent some drawings over to them to illustrate what we want. I don't have an ETA yet.
