So I bought this gas wagon a while ago, have put a lot of parts on it and had a good time, pulled the head a while back to repair some broken studs for the exhaust manifold, and since then got my MK2 up and running and this car has been sitting in my garage since gathering dust.
I needed to order some special tools to align the head, and have just never gotten around to it, and my work and travel schedule is picking up, so I doubt im getting to it any time soon and I will be losing the storage space pretty soon.
The car is complete, comes with pretty much all the parts to put the head back on with a new head gasket and timing belt (provided), (the engine ran great up until I pulled the head). The broken exhaust studs have been professionally repaired by a machine shop, this might be a perfect opportunity to do some porting or other performance modifications, but essentially, if you want to do a little work, you have a car with tons of new parts thats worth a lot more than 500 bucks.
Its a FWD 5-speed, no rust, mint interior, and could be a great project for someone. Im just not getting around to it, and donating a lot of time to another project id like to complete on another car to get running before I lose the space, so its one or the other in the time I have available, and the quantum is getting sold. My loss is your gain basically, you have more than 500 dollars in new parts on the front suspension alone.
Also available with the car are some kick a$$ 5-spoke rims, but they would be an additional 500 bucks since i JUST had them powdercoated. Was going to keep them, but I don't like the way they look on my MK2, too wide for my tastes. Look great on this quantum though. They are mounted and balanced with tires and spacers all included. If you are interested in the rims alone, let me know.
Here are a few pics of the car, and below a thread that lists everything done since I have had it over on the quantum forum (more pics in the thread).
here is a pic of the rims, in the thread below you can see them unfinished on the car for an idea of just how they look, but this is right after powdercoating. The do not have centercaps, but the tires have been mounted and balanced since this pic-
Heres the thread I started about this car, here you can basically read all about it. It had some rear quarter damage which is fixed, but still a little tweaked. Its mildly irritating, but still looks pretty darn decent.
the car is located in woonsocket RI. I could be convinced to deliver it up to a certain distance if you pay for fuel and a dolly, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Please PM me if interested.
Just to recap-
Car alone with all associated parts- 500 bucks
Car alone with all associated parts AND set of 4 rims ready to roll- 1000 bucks
