So was playing around with vagcom today on my OBDI VR and checked the throttle angle position and when I push the pedal all the way down it reads 91.7% Is this normal? I know I can adjust my throttle cable and could probably get it to open to 100% But was wondering if anybody else has the same "issue"

It's not %, it's degrees. Mine reads something like 9.7* closed and 94* at WOT. Car does it's job so I'm not worried about it. It is fully closed when I'm off the pedal and with slack in the cable, and when I floor it, it opens up all the way to against the stop, so I'm fine with that.

Just read that thread couple days ago, plugged my Cable and run some tests on VAG-COM:

    I have OBD-I 95 VR6.

While warmed up, Throttle position angle was 9-10*...... then i pushed pedal to the floor till the max rev and the angle was hardly on 48*....

what could that mean ??? i read people have 80-90*, but mine only does 48*..... what could be causing this???

no DTC's on scan tool.... car runs good.... fuel consumption is high though......

can someone please reply to me ? Thanks

If its actually wot and reading low (visually inspected) then theres an issue with the tps or a wire somewhere. tps is a pot so its varying a resistance to drop voltage, 0-5v i believe. Check it out with a volt meter.

Last i checked mine it was at 84ish, it hits the wot map just fine. I would not worry about your 91.

thx for reply, i have got 2 TPS, i swapped them and got same results.... dont think it's TPS fault, i have cleaned TB recently, and noticed some kind of "screws" which regulate something on TB. maybe it's mechanical fault and those screws need to be adjusted ??? is it related ?

Ok, looked at my TB today.... Still nothing.

At WOT VAG-COM TB Angle still says 48*...... At Idle it's 10*....

Since it's OBD1, and throttle body is mechanical, i mean when i push pedal Throttle body opens fully how the hell it's still 48* ??? i cant get it ???

I would think my POT is faulty, but i have another one that i replaced with, but had same results. What can be causing this ? or since TB opens fully mechanically, does POT affect car's performance anyway ?
