I am expecting my first kid in August and as much as it pains me to think about getting rid of the coolest car I have ever owned, I may need to get something a little more "Family Friendly." If anyone knows Hexagone, it is his former Rocco. I have posted a link to his rebuild page with a list of parts totaling somewhere in the $8,000 range and an ungodly amount of manhours. It has a beautiful "Corvette Monza Red" paint job and freshly painted BBS RS rims (sold seperatly if desired) I have personally invested many a long weekend in the vehicle myself replacing alot of things that I have also listed below. I have cared for this car better than anything else I have ever owned. It has been garage kept for the entire time I have owned it. I just picked it up from my shop "Helumt & Vito's" in Downers Grove for a tune and check up. It runs great! I want to trade for something practical but not boring either. It has to be stick!

I have replaced the following items;
-suspension(control arms, tie rods, barings)
-radiator
-water pump
-timing belt & cover
-spark plugs/wires
-distributor/rotor/cap
-tightened all components I assume were loosened by hex's rebuild(exhaust, lower swaybars front/rear)
-all gaskets; head, valve, exhaust, intake manifold...
-sunroof seal(doesn't open but doesn't leak either(can be repaired if desired))
-all lights front and rear
-stereo(head unit, front components, rear 6x9s and amp)
-rear spoiler and custom front spoiler
-added black moulding with red stripe to indent where original 16v body kit (included) hung
-15" BBS RS gold painted wheels with polished lip (also done by hexagone)
-tinted windows all the way around

That is all I can think of for the moment but like I said I am looking to trade so if anyone is interested let me know and we'll see what we can work out.

This was my answer to a message I got about earlier about selling it outright. "Yes, it does have a sun roof, but, the first week i had it, it broke and does not currently open. I checked it out and it is possible to fix it, it just wasn't on the top of my list of things to fix. I did replace the seal and it is totally solid. I am trying to trade for something that is as good just more "family oriented" like with the LATCH system but, I suppose i could sell it outright. I need another car so i'd like to get at least 6000 for it so I can get something i know is as reliable as this. For that price it includes the euro racing steering wheel, stereo, and bbs rs rims and tires. I have the original steering wheel, a second set of wheels that i would include as well as ALL the original parts i got with the car. Hexagon converted it to crank windows just to be more dependable but i still have all the original panels and wiring which, to the best of my knowledge, still works if you wanted to switch it back. He also removed the rear wiper but i still have all the equipment for that as well. I also have a set of MKII Golf Recaro seats that i would include. i planned on eventually fitting them in the car but funds and time are short. Check the link in the post and you'll see all the stuff its got as well as what i added. Let know what you think or if you have any questions."

My old car. Hundreds of hours of work put into it, not to mention 200+ hours in bodywork alone.
It's like glass, and I wanted to make sure this picture showed it:
(Justin, don't let it go for just anything... trust me, you'll regret it even with whatever you end up finding)

Tell me about it bro I've been rackin my brain trying to find a comparable replacement let alone getting rid of it at all but unfortunately it's easier to get over a car than a kid. I was actually gonna hit you up this weekend and see what you were driving. Don't suppose it's a cool four door with as much pazzaz as the roc? Either way I have loved this car almost as much as anything else in my life and it will always be remembered fondly.

This is such a beautiful car. I have followed hex's build and I was actually thinking about buying the car when it still had the silver stripes down the sides. I really do wish I had the extra funds to pick it up as it is now. That's just about my dream car and I absolutely love the color red that's on it. GLWS!!!

Everyday i look at it and it makes me so happy. I hate the fact that so much time and care has gone into this car and i have to get rid of it for practical reasons. However it is easier to get over a car than a kid. I had so many good times with this car and so many more planned. I really hope it goes to a good home with someone that will appreciate it as much as the previous owners.

AutoX season is right around the corner. Nod Nod Wink Wink.

justin, don't you dare give this up for any car that shows up even with a single spot of rust or a dent.
There's very little worthy of a trade, and you'd be better off just selling it to someone and buying what you need. Don't even get me started on MK3s...

Dood i know i have been going crazy thinking about it. I just ordered a brochure for an 86, 16v introduction and this poster
i love this car so much it hurts. I am talking to a guy with a SVT focus right now but nothing... NOTHING will ever be the same. I just need a four door. Sigh.

FWIW, I owned a duplicate of this car from 1988 - 1994, and my son was born in 1990. A child seat fits just fine, and he was pretty comfortable in the back seat. 30 MPG was family friendly too. Now I'm rebuilding another 16V 20 years later, go figure. GLWS.
