Anyone have an inside scoop on the new MKVII motor? What are the big changes? I've heard estimates of 230hp & 260tq.

I wonder if it will be worth an upgrade, or if a tune to the current tsi should be comparable...

    Your input?

Same motor they just turned the boost up and/or use a more efficient k03 then the current tsi.

I wonder if 260 ft-lbs would introduce torque steer. I had an Acura TL Type S that has 252 ft-lbs of torque and at a much higher RPM and it had ridiculous torque steer that took the fun out of the drive.....mt would change lanes on the shift. I sure hope this is different

    Any thoughts?

The new limited slip differential also mention in articles and released info should take care of major torque issues.

It's a completely new engine with the turbo integrated, and cooling to reduce EGT to avoid having to run rich at WOT. The Audi version (already sold as a 1.8T in the Euro A4) also has electronically controlled oil/water cooling so the engine can warm up faster, and of course variable valve lift in addition to VVT. How much of those will go into the VW version is unclear for now. Engine should have more torque than the current 2.0T Audi engine (258ft-lbs), and of course more hp (211), and require even less fuel.

i'm sure the TQ steer will be compensated for in the design. however, the current 2.0 TSI that i have in my 2012 GTI, has some TQ steer w/ a stage 2 tune by APR (estimated ~250hp to the wheels, and ~260 TQ) not sure on the numbers, i have yet to have it dyno'd. the TQ steer isnt too bad though, i'm also sure it'll be less on the new motor.

The TL-S also had a limited slip diff and it did nothing for torque steer and also made it very hard to accelarate through corners..... thus why it's gone, after 54,000 miles, I had enough.....

I guess we'll have to wait to drive one and see for ourselves.....
